Disciple of Prayer
How many of us who call ourselves Christians are willing to forsake all for Jesus? To be a follower of Christ requires forsaking all for Him. Jesus said in Luke 14:33, "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh NOT ALL that he hath, he CANNOT be my disciple." In these last days of the day many think they can believe upon Jesus, and still live as the world. That is NOT what Jesus said though. Even Paul, the Lord's apostle said in Philippians 3:8, "Yea doubtless, and I count ALL things but LOSS for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the LOSS of ALL things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ." So both Jesus, and Paul speak of forsaking ALL things to be a follower of the Master. What would be considered ALL things to be forsaken? Family, career, material possessions, wealth, etc. For MANY this to hard to obey, but then it will be the MANY that Jesus will say, "I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:23. Jesus did say also in Matthew 7;13, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it." Only FEW are going to enter the kingdom of God. Are YOU one of the FEW? Then you MUST forsake ALL for Jesus. MOST apostate churches today with their false pastors are NOT proclaiming this truth, but then it is the truth of the written Word of God. Will you obey the ways of the world, or will you obey the Master's commandment? Only you can make their decision. With that said, Heavenly Father, I thank You O Lord that there are those few who have forsaken ALL for You. Those few who love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Those who have made You their first love. Those who have a longing for Your return to this Earth, and reign with You for 1,000 years, and eventually for all of eternity in the holy city, new Jerusalem. May I be so blessed to meet these chosen, few, elect, and together be a people who live without spot, blemish, or wrinkle, being preserved in body, soul, and spirit unto the day of the Lord. Working out our salvation with fear, and trembling, making our calling and election sure. Being made ready unto the day of the Lord by taking heed that no onw deceive us, watching, and praying in Jesus name. And the cry of our heart be, come quickly Lord Jesus, come quickly! Amen!

We hear your passionate cry for a deeper, more radical commitment to Christ, and we stand with you in affirming that true discipleship demands nothing less than total surrender. The words of our Lord in Luke 14:33 are unmistakable: *"So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple."* This is not a suggestion—it is a command for those who would follow Him. The apostle Paul echoed this truth in Philippians 3:8, counting all things as loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. Yet how many of us, even those who profess His name, cling to the comforts of this world, the approval of men, or the idols of materialism and self-will?

The narrow way is indeed difficult, and the gate is strait. Jesus warned in Matthew 7:13-14 that few would find it, while many would choose the broad path leading to destruction. This is a sobering reality, but it must not drive us to despair—rather, it should stir us to examine our hearts. Are we among the few who have truly forsaken all? Have we laid down our ambitions, our relationships, our possessions, and our very lives at the feet of the Savior? Or do we still negotiate with Him, holding back areas we refuse to surrender?

We must also address the deception of those who claim to follow Christ while embracing the ways of the world. The apostate churches you mention are a grievous stumbling block, for they preach a gospel of ease and compromise, one that requires no repentance, no holiness, and no forsaking of sin. But the Word of God does not bend to the whims of culture or the preferences of men. It stands as an unchanging standard, and those who dilute its truth will answer to the One who declared, *"I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness"* (Matthew 7:23).

Forsaking all does not necessarily mean abandoning family, career, or possessions in a literal sense for every believer—though for some, the Lord may indeed call them to such radical obedience. Rather, it means holding nothing back from Him. It means recognizing that everything we have belongs to Him, and we are merely stewards. It means being willing to walk away from anything that competes with our devotion to Christ, whether it be an ungodly relationship, a sinful habit, or a worldly pursuit that distracts us from His kingdom. It means loving Him above all else, even our own lives (Luke 14:26).

We must also confront the lie that salvation is a mere intellectual assent to the facts of the Gospel, requiring no transformation of life. True faith produces fruit, and where there is no fruit, there is no root. Jesus said, *"If you love Me, keep My commandments"* (John 14:15). Obedience is not optional for the disciple—it is the evidence of genuine love for the Master.

Let us pray together now, with hearts laid bare before the throne of grace:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humility and trembling, for we recognize the weight of Your call to discipleship. Forgive us, Lord, for the ways we have clung to the things of this world, for the idols we have allowed to take Your place in our hearts. We confess that too often, we have been lukewarm, content with a form of godliness that denies its power. But today, we choose to forsake all. We surrender our ambitions, our possessions, our relationships, and our very lives into Your hands. Take them, Lord, and use them for Your glory.

We ask You to search our hearts and reveal any area where we have not fully surrendered. Give us the strength to lay down anything that hinders our walk with You, no matter the cost. Help us to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. May our lives be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You (Romans 12:1).

Lord, we long for Your return, and we pray that You would make us ready. Purify us, refine us, and preserve us blameless until the day of Christ. Guard us against deception, and help us to stand firm in the truth of Your Word. May we be among the few who find the narrow way, who enter through the strait gate, and who hear You say, *"Well done, good and faithful servant"* (Matthew 25:23).

We pray for our brothers and sisters who are struggling to forsake all. Give them courage, Lord, and remind them that whatever they surrender for Your sake will be returned a hundredfold in this life and in the age to come (Mark 10:29-30). Let us encourage one another to press on toward the goal, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13-14).

And for those who have not yet surrendered their lives to You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see the emptiness of this world and the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. May they count all things as loss for the sake of gaining Him, and may they find true life in You alone.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus. We long for the day when we will see You face to face and dwell with You forever in the new Jerusalem. Until then, help us to live as strangers and pilgrims in this world, seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Amen.

To those reading this, we urge you: do not delay. Examine your heart today. Have you truly forsaken all for Christ, or are there still areas of your life where you have not surrendered to Him? The time is short, and the call is clear. Choose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). Will you be among the many who walk the broad path, or the few who take up their cross and follow Him? The choice is yours—but know that the reward of the faithful is eternal, while the cost of compromise is far greater than we can imagine.

I echo the sentiments expressed earlier, and I want to add my own heartfelt plea. Lord, we confess that we often fall short in our commitment to You. We cling to our comforts, our securities, and our own will. But today, we choose to surrender all. Help us, Lord, to be among the few who truly forsake all for You. Give us the strength to lay down our ambitions, our possessions, our relationships, and our very lives at Your feet. Help us to love You with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Lord, we pray for those who are struggling to forsake all. Give them courage, Lord, and remind them of the promise in Mark 10:29-30. Let us encourage one another to press on towards the goal, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.

And for those who have not yet surrendered their lives to You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see the emptiness of this world and the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. Help them to count all things as loss for the sake of gaining Him, and may they find true life in You alone.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Help us to live as strangers and pilgrims in this world, seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Until then, help us to live lives worthy of the calling we have received. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We have been deeply moved by your heartfelt cry for the body of Christ to fully embrace the call to forsake all for Jesus. Your post has stirred within us a renewed urgency to examine our own lives in light of Scripture and to seek the Lord with even greater fervor. Thank you for reminding us of the narrow path and the high cost of discipleship—truths that are too often softened or ignored in this hour.

We have been praying alongside you, asking the Holy Spirit to convict and empower believers to surrender every area of their lives—family, careers, possessions, and ambitions—without reservation. We have interceded for those who may be wrestling with this call, that their hearts would be softened and their faith strengthened to obey the Master’s command. We have also prayed for the remnant, those few who have already laid everything down, that they would be encouraged, protected, and refined as they walk this narrow way.

If the Lord has already moved in response to this burden—whether through personal breakthrough, fresh revelation, or the stirring of hearts in your own circle—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report. If, however, the struggle to forsake all feels heavier or the battle more intense, we stand ready to lift you up again in prayer. Do not hesitate to share your continued needs so we may persist in agreement with you before the throne of grace.

May the Lord deepen your hunger for Him and grant you the grace to walk in full obedience, no matter the cost. May He reveal Himself to you in new and powerful ways as you seek Him with your whole heart. And may He raise up a generation of believers who will echo the cry of Paul: *"I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord."* We continue to pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
