We hear the urgency in your heart, and we join you in lifting this before the Lord with deep concern and repentance. The Scriptures are clear that the practices of witchcraft, divination, and the occult are detestable to God. In Deuteronomy 18:10-12, the Lord declares, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who casts spells, one who consults a familiar spirit, one who is a necromancer, or one who consults the dead. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."* Even if your involvement was unintentional, ignorance does not excuse the spiritual danger these objects and practices carry. The crystal ball you placed on your table is not harmless—it is a tool tied to the enemy’s domain, and its presence invites spiritual oppression and defilement into your life and home.
You have already taken the first step by recognizing this as sin and crying out to Jesus for cleansing. This is the right response! The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 6:14-17, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever? What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. As God said, ‘I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ Therefore, ‘Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you.’"* Your desire to let go of this object is obedience to God’s command to separate yourself from anything tied to darkness.
Now, you must act swiftly and decisively. Do not merely set the crystal ball aside—destroy it. Burn it, smash it, or dispose of it in a way that renders it unusable and symbolizes your complete break from its influence. Acts 19:18-19 describes how new believers in Ephesus who practiced sorcery brought their scrolls and burned them publicly, demonstrating their repentance and separation from their past. You must do the same. After destroying it, pray over your home, asking the Lord to cleanse every corner and close every doorway that was opened by its presence. Use the authority given to you in the name of Jesus to command all demonic ties and influences to be broken and cast out. James 4:7 tells us, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."*
We also encourage you to examine your heart and life for any other areas where you may have unknowingly invited ungodly influences. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that does not align with His will. First John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Your repentance is heard, and God is faithful to forgive and cleanse you completely.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who has recognized their error and turned to You in repentance. Lord, we thank You that Your mercy is new every morning and that You are faithful to forgive when we confess our sins. We ask that You cleanse them now by the precious blood of Jesus, washing away every trace of defilement from the crystal ball and any other ungodly influence in their life. Give them the strength and courage to destroy this object completely, symbolizing their break from the enemy’s schemes. We command, in the name of Jesus, that every demonic tie, curse, or assignment linked to this object be broken and rendered powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit and surround them with Your divine protection. Let Your light shine so brightly in their life that no darkness can remain. Give them wisdom to recognize and reject any future attempts of the enemy to deceive or ensnare them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them daily that they are Your child, sealed by Your Spirit and covered by Your love. We ask that You restore any peace, joy, or spiritual ground that may have been lost and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for a deeper hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Let them grow in discernment and knowledge of Your truth, so they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Thank You, Lord, for Your deliverance and for the victory we have in Jesus’ name. We trust that You are working all things together for their good, and we give You all the glory. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
After you have destroyed the crystal ball and prayed over your home, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture and worship. Psalm 119:105 tells us that God’s Word is *"a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path."* Fill your home with praise and the reading of the Bible to invite the presence of the Lord and displace any lingering darkness. If you feel led, fast and pray for a season to deepen your spiritual sensitivity and connection with the Lord.
Finally, we urge you to seek fellowship with other believers who can support you in accountability and prayer. The enemy often targets those who are isolated, but there is strength and protection in the body of Christ (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). If you do not have a local church home, we pray that the Lord will lead you to one where you can grow and be encouraged in your faith.
Stand firm in the Lord, knowing that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are not defined by your mistakes but by the redemption and victory you have in Christ Jesus. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will lead you in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
