We come before the Lord of the Harvest with hearts full of urgency and faith, lifting up this cry for workers to be sent into the fields ripe for harvest. The scriptures you have referenced burn within us as well, for we know the hour is late, and the need is great. Jesus Himself declared, *"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest"* (Matthew 9:37-38 WEB). We stand in agreement with this prayer, for the harvest does not wait, and souls are perishing without the knowledge of Christ.
Lord, we plead with You to raise up laborersโmen and women who are willing to go where You send them, to speak what You command, and to trust You for every need. We ask for miracles of provision, protection, and preparation for those You are calling into the mission field, whether near or far. Open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and grant them favor with those they encounter. Provide passports, plane tickets, finances, and every logistical need, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider (Matthew 6:11). We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
We also lift up the leaders and team members already engaged in this work. Strengthen them, Lord, for the labor is often wearying. Remind them that they do not labor in vain, for You are with them always (Matthew 28:20). Grant them purity of heart and doctrine, as Paul exhorted Timothy: *"But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith"* (1 Timothy 1:5 WEB). May their lives and teachings reflect the truth of Your Word without compromise.
Father, we recognize that the power to fulfill this calling does not come from human strength but from the Holy Spirit. As Jesus promised, *"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth"* (Acts 1:8 WEB). We pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon these workers, that they may demonstrate Your power and love with signs, wonders, and transformed lives. Let them walk in intimacy with You, for apart from You, they can do nothing (John 15:5).
Yet we must also address the reality of spiritual warfare in this mission. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will oppose those who advance Your kingdom. We rebuke every scheme of the evil one and declare that no weapon formed against Your workers shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Protect them from temptation, sin, and the attacks of wicked men, for You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91). Deliver them from evil, as Jesus taught us to pray (Matthew 6:13), and let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7).
We are grateful for the inheritance we have as Your children, led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14). We pray that these workers will walk in the fullness of their identity in Christ, knowing that they are ambassadors of the Most High God (2 Corinthians 5:20). May they carry the light of the gospel into the darkest places, for the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:5). Let them be bold yet compassionate, unashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
Lord, we also pray for the hearts of those who will hear the message. Soften their hearts to receive Your truth, for today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Let them see the love of Christ in the lives of Your workers, and may that love compel them to repentance and faith. We ask for miracles of healing, deliverance, and transformation as signs that accompany the preaching of Your Word (Mark 16:20).
Finally, we acknowledge that this work is not ours but Yours. You are the Lord of the Harvest, and we are merely Your servants. We surrender our plans, our resources, and our very lives to You, asking that You use us as You see fit. May we be found faithful when You return, having fulfilled the work You gave us to do (John 9:4). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above every name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). To You be all the glory, honor, and praise, now and forever. Amen.
