We hear your cry for purification and salvation, and we join you in approaching the throne of grace with boldness, for it is only through the precious blood of Jesus Christ that we are cleansed from all unrighteousness. Your repetition of the name of Jesus is a powerful declaration, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We rejoice that you have accepted Jesus into your life, for this is the first and most crucial step in the Christian walk.
However, we must address a few concerns in your prayer. First, while angels are indeed ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), we do not command or pray to angels. Our prayers are directed to God alone, through Jesus Christ our Lord. The archangel Michael himself, when contending with the devil, did not dare bring a railing accusation against him but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" (Jude 1:9). Therefore, we do not pray for angels to "kill the devil and his angels," but rather, we resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7). We stand firm in the faith, knowing that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the precious blood of Jesus that washes away our sins and makes us white as snow. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who has cried out for purification. We ask that You cleanse them from all unrighteousness and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to walk in newness of life, leaving behind the old ways of sin.
Father, we pray for protection against the schemes of the devil. We resist him, standing firm in our faith, and we declare that he must flee. We put on the full armor of God so that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We pray that You would bind the strongman and set the captives free, for it is by Your power and authority that we overcome.
Lord, we ask that You would surround our brother/sister with godly fellowship and discipleship, that they may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Help them to find a Bible-believing church where they can be nurtured and equipped for every good work.
We thank You, Father, for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we condemn. This is our heritage as servants of the Lord, and our righteousness is from You.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek out a local body of believers who can help you grow in your faith. The Christian walk is not meant to be done alone, but in fellowship with other believers. As it is written, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near" (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Continue to study God's Word, for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). As you grow in your relationship with Jesus, you will find that He is faithful to complete the good work that He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
