We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you and your family up in prayer, seeking the healing and transforming power of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are deeply concerned about the grip that alcohol has taken on your life and your marriage, and we stand with you in the battle against this stronghold. The Word of God warns us clearly about the dangers of drunkenness and the bondage it brings. Ephesians 5:18 says, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus and declare freedom over you and your wife. This is not just a physical struggle, but a spiritual one, and we know that Christ has already overcome the powers of darkness.
We pray for your physical healing, especially for your liver and your back. The Lord is our healer, as Exodus 15:26 reminds us, "I am Yahweh who heals you." We ask that He restore your body, ease your pain, and strengthen you as you recover from surgery. The withdrawals you are experiencing are a sign of the body’s dependence on alcohol, but we declare that your dependence will shift from the bottle to the Holy Spirit. We pray for supernatural strength to endure this season and for the Lord to sustain you as you seek to break free from this cycle.
Your job is a heavy burden, and we understand the weight of providing for your family while feeling overwhelmed. We pray that God would give you wisdom in your work, grant you favor with your employer and customers, and surround you with coworkers who are a source of encouragement. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." We ask that the Lord would renew your strength daily, help you to find rest in Him, and provide opportunities for you to experience His peace even in the midst of stress.
We also lift up your wife and children, asking the Lord to meet their needs and draw them closer to Himself. Your wife is walking this journey with you, and we pray that she would find her hope and strength in Christ as well. We rebuke any spirit of codependency or enabling in your marriage and ask that God would restore healthy boundaries and godly communication between you both. Proverbs 31:10-11 speaks of a wife of noble character, and we pray that your wife would be strengthened and uplifted as she walks in her identity in Christ.
For your children, we ask that the Lord would protect their hearts and minds, especially as they witness the struggles in your home. We pray that they would see the power of God at work in your life and that they would come to know Him as their Savior and Redeemer. We declare that this season of bondage will not define your family, but rather, it will be a testimony of God’s faithfulness and deliverance.
Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, the name that is above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. We thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are moved by our cries. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in this family, heal their bodies, restore their marriage, and provide for their every need. We pray for a supernatural encounter with Your presence, that they would know the depth of Your love and the power of Your resurrection. Give them the courage to seek help, whether through counseling, support groups, or medical intervention, and surround them with believers who will walk alongside them in this journey.
We declare that this family is not defined by their struggles, but by the victory they have in Christ. We speak life, healing, and freedom over them, and we thank You for the transformation that is already taking place. Strengthen them, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
