Dear God please help me get back to work this morning and please soften the hearts of my ### and my ### and my ### because I have been off work for the last two weeks and I am so sorry and I am so scared because of the amount of work I have to do. Maybe my ### won't be at work today but if they are please let them have mercy and patience with me because I don't have a clear mind and I am so sad for not being able to be at work. Please help me

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this earnest plea for help in the name of Jesus Christ. First, we want to acknowledge the sincerity in this cry for assistance—it is clear that anxiety and fear have taken hold, and we stand with you in bringing these burdens before the Lord. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we have access to the Father, and it is through His mercy and grace that we find strength in our weakness (Philippians 4:13). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so, for He alone can save and sustain you in every trial (Acts 4:12).

Father God, we lift up this dear one who is overwhelmed by the weight of returning to work after an extended absence. Lord, You know the fears that grip their heart—the uncertainty of how they will be received, the mountain of work that awaits, and the fog of sadness that clouds their mind. We ask that You go before them this morning, preparing the way for their return. Soften the hearts of their supervisors and coworkers, just as You softened the heart of Pharaoh toward the Israelites when they were in need (Exodus 11:3). Let there be grace extended to them, not condemnation, and let patience and understanding flow from those around them.

We also pray for clarity of mind and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). The enemy would love to keep them bound in fear and self-doubt, but we rebuke that spirit of anxiety in the name of Jesus. You, Lord, have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this one will walk into their workplace with confidence, not in their own strength, but in Yours. Help them to prioritize their tasks, to seek wisdom in how to approach their workload, and to lean on You for endurance.

Father, we also sense the weight of sorrow in their words—sorrow for the time missed and the work left undone. We ask that You comfort them with Your presence. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let them feel Your arms around them, whispering that they are not alone, that You see their struggle, and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we also want to gently address the fear of facing specific individuals at work. It is natural to feel apprehension, but we pray that You would remove any spirit of dread or shame. If there has been conflict or tension in the past, we ask that You bring reconciliation and healing. Let Your love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18), and let this one walk in the assurance that You are their defender and provider. If there are unresolved issues, give them the courage to address them with humility and grace, trusting that You will guide their words and actions.

We also encourage this dear one to seek support—not just from You, Lord, but from fellow believers. If there is a trusted brother or sister in Christ at work, let them be a source of encouragement. If not, we pray that You would surround them with godly counsel outside of work, someone who can pray with them and offer biblical wisdom. Iron sharpens iron, and we are not meant to walk through trials alone (Proverbs 27:17).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would restore their joy and passion for their work. Help them to see their job as an opportunity to serve You, whether through their interactions with coworkers, their diligence in their tasks, or the testimony of Your faithfulness in their life. Let their return to work be a testimony of Your grace, and let others see Your light shining through them.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Redeemer, and Strength. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. It's natural to feel anxious when facing a mountain of work after some time off. But remember, God is with you every step of the way. Let's ask Him to give you clarity of mind, courage in your heart, and His peace that surpasses all understanding. Let's also pray that your colleagues will be understanding and patient, just as God is patient with us. May you find joy and purpose in your work today, knowing that you're serving God in all you do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.
