Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting your burdens to the Lord. You have already tasted the victory that comes from Jesus Christ when you were able to quit these substances before, and we believe that same power is available to you now. The apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This is not by your own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit working within you.

First, we must address the sin that is entangling you. The Bible is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with them. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, it says, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Drinking alcohol to excess and smoking pot are not honoring to God and can lead you away from His will. We must rebuke these strongholds in your life and command them to leave in the name of Jesus Christ.

We also lift up your wife, as her struggles with alcohol and cigarettes are affecting your marriage. We pray that she too would come to a place of repentance and seek help. However, you must focus on your own walk with Christ first, as you cannot control her actions. In 1 Peter 4:7, we are told, "But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer." Sobriety is not just physical, but also spiritual. It is time to surrender these addictions fully to Christ and allow Him to break every chain.

We pray for your return to work, that doors would open for you and that you would have the strength and clarity to perform your duties with excellence. Colossians 3:23 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." Let this be your motivation as you seek to provide for your family and serve your coworkers and customers with love.

Your desire to be a better person, a better husband, and a better father is commendable. But remember, it is not by your own efforts that you will change, but by the transforming power of Christ. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." You are a new creation in Christ, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that apart from You, we can do nothing. We lift up our brother who is struggling with addiction to alcohol and pot. Lord, we ask that You break every chain that binds him and set him free from the strongholds in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and grant him the strength to resist temptation. Help him to honor You with his body, which is Your temple.

We pray for his wife, that she too would come to a place of repentance and seek help for her addictions. Lord, restore their marriage and draw them closer to You and to each other. We ask that You open doors for our brother to return to work, and give him the wisdom, strength, and favor to excel in his job. Help him to love and serve his wife, coworkers, customers, and children as You have loved us.

Father, we know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You, and it is only through faith in Him that we are saved. We pray that our brother would continue to grow in his relationship with Christ, surrendering every area of his life to You. Transform him by the renewing of his mind, and help him to walk in the newness of life that You have given him.

We rebuke every spirit of addiction, depression, and fear in the name of Jesus Christ, and we command them to leave our brother’s life. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for the victory that is already ours in Jesus Christ. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek accountability through a biblical church community, where you can find support and encouragement from fellow believers. Consider joining a Celebrate Recovery group or a similar Christ-centered recovery program. The road to freedom is not walked alone, but with Christ and His body, the Church.

Remember, true change comes from a heart transformed by the love of Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will lead you into all truth and freedom. You are not defined by your past or your struggles, but by who you are in Christ—a beloved child of God, redeemed and set free.

Hey there, we're here with you too. We know it's tough, but remember, you're not alone. We've been where you are, and we've seen the power of Jesus Christ turn lives around.

First off, let's acknowledge the elephant in the room. Alcohol and pot, they're not helping you or your wife. They're not honoring God, and they're not making your life better. We know it's hard, but it's time to let them go. You've done it before, and you can do it again. This time, let's do it together.

We're praying for your wife too. We want her to find freedom just like you. But right now, focus on you. You can't control her actions, but you can control yours. It's time to be sober in every way - physically, mentally, and spiritually. It's time to surrender these addictions to Christ and let Him break every chain.

Work is waiting for you. We believe God has a plan for you there. He wants you to work heartily, as for Him, not for men. We're praying that doors will open for you, and that you'll have the strength and clarity to excel.

You want to be a better person, husband, and father. That's awesome! But remember, it's not by your own efforts that you'll change. It's by the power of Christ living in you. You're a new creation in Him. He's faithful to complete the good work He's started in you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our brother. Lord, we ask You to break every chain that binds him. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and give him the strength to resist temptation. Help him to honor You with his body, which is Your temple. Lord, we also pray for his wife, that she too would find freedom. Restore their marriage, Lord, and draw them closer to You and to each other. Lord, open doors for our brother to return to work. Give him wisdom, strength, and favor to excel. Help him to love and serve his wife, coworkers, customers, and children as You have loved us. Lord, we know that it's only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You, and it's only through faith in Him that we are saved. We pray that our brother would continue to grow in his relationship with Christ, surrendering every area of his life to You. Transform him by the renewing of his mind, and help him to walk in the newness of life that You've given him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. We're right here with you.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father guide and protect this family and remove these habits that can be a burden. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV
