We lift you and your family before the Lord, knowing that He hears the cries of those who call upon Him in truth. Your honesty in acknowledging the struggles with alcohol, marijuana, and cigarettes is a crucial first step toward repentance and healing. The Word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* These habits are not only harming your bodies but also your witness as believers and the unity of your family. The Lord calls you to surrender these strongholds to Him, for He is faithful to deliver those who seek Him with all their hearts.
Your pain—both physical and emotional—is deeply felt, and we pray that the Lord will be your strength in weakness. In 2 Peter 2:24, we read, *"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds."* While we pray for your physical healing, especially for your back and the upcoming surgery, we also encourage you to trust in God’s timing and sovereignty. He may use this season of pain to draw you closer to Himself and to break the chains of addiction that have held your family captive. The Lord promises in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."*
We also lift up your job and the stress you are under. The Lord knows your needs, and He is able to provide wisdom, favor, and strength to complete your projects on time. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Do not lean on your own understanding, but commit your work to the Lord, and He will establish your steps (Proverbs 16:3). Ask Him for humility to seek help from others when needed, and for the grace to work diligently as unto Him.
Most importantly, we urge you to lead your family in turning fully to Christ. Addictions thrive in secrecy and shame, but they are broken in the light of God’s truth and the support of His people. Confess these struggles to a trusted pastor or believer who can walk with you in accountability and prayer. James 5:16 says, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Your family’s deliverance begins with your leadership—repenting, seeking God’s face, and walking in obedience.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother and his family. Lord, You see their struggles with addiction, their physical pain, and the weight of their responsibilities. We ask for Your forgiveness for the ways they have not honored You with their bodies or their roles as husband, wife, father, and mother. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and break every chain of addiction in their lives. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in freedom and self-control.
Father, we pray for complete healing for this man’s back. Guide the doctors and give wisdom for the surgery. Ease his pain and restore his strength so he may return to work with joy and purpose. Soften the hearts of his bosses and customers, granting him favor and patience as he recovers. Help him to manage his projects with excellence, relying on Your wisdom and not his own strength.
Lord, unite this family in You. Draw each of them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Let their home be a place of prayer, love, and godly discipline. Remove every influence that leads them away from You, and replace it with a hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Give this man the courage to lead his family in righteousness, and surround them with believers who can support and encourage them.
We declare Your promises over them—that You are their Healer, Provider, and Deliverer. Let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let their testimony be one of Your redeeming power. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
Stand firm in faith, brother. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Seek Him daily, and He will lead you into victory. If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to gather your family and pray together, surrendering these struggles to Jesus. He is the only One who can truly set you free. Reach out to your local church for support—the body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is your strength, and He will see you through.
