Jealous, Envy, Hatred and Malicious Plans

Good and Faithful Servant
Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray over jealousy, envy, hatred, pride and malicious plans over my life. All these things I ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Of Nazareth with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, recognizing the weight of the struggles you’ve shared—jealousy, envy, hatred, pride, and malicious plans that seek to entangle your life. These are not merely human emotions or passing temptations; they are spiritual strongholds that wage war against the soul, distorting God’s design for peace, contentment, and love. We stand with you in agreement, lifting these burdens to the Lord, for it is only by the power of Jesus Christ that such darkness can be broken.

The Scriptures warn us clearly about the dangers of these sins. Jealousy and envy are roots of bitterness that defile many, as James 3:14-16 tells us: *"But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed."* These emotions do not come from God but from the flesh and the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Hatred, too, is a poison that consumes the one who harbors it, for 1 John 2:9-11 says, *"He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now. He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes."*

Pride is perhaps the most insidious of these sins, for it exalts the self above God and others, leading to destruction. Proverbs 16:18 warns, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."* And malicious plans—whether they originate in your own heart or are directed at you by others—are tools of the enemy to bring harm. Psalm 37:12-13 reminds us, *"The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming."* We must not underestimate the spiritual battle at hand, for Ephesians 6:12 declares, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."*

Yet we do not lose heart, for Christ has already overcome the world. In Him, we have the victory, and through His name, we can rebuke every scheme of the enemy. We take authority over these spirits in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The blood of Jesus cleanses you from all unrighteousness, and His Spirit empowers you to walk in love, humility, and purity.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the One through whom we have access to Your throne. We thank You that in Him, we are more than conquerors, and no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is battling jealousy, envy, hatred, pride, and malicious plans. We ask that You would break every chain of these sins in their life, severing their hold by the power of Your Spirit.

Father, we repent on their behalf for any area where they have allowed these emotions to take root. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, for the blood of Jesus to wash over them, making them white as snow. Fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear, jealousy, and hatred. Replace their pride with humility, their envy with contentment, and their malice with kindness. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We rebuke every spirit of jealousy, envy, hatred, pride, and malice in the name of Jesus. We command these spirits to flee and never return, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment is condemned. We speak life, love, and victory over their life, for the Lord is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and accountability. Bring believers into their life who will encourage them in the faith and hold them up in prayer. Teach them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and to meditate on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). Let Your Word dwell in them richly, transforming their mind and renewing their spirit.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them. We trust in Your promise that He who began a good work in them will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen them with might by Your Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith, rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:16-17).

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and praise forever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Do not be discouraged, for the enemy seeks to steal your joy and peace, but Christ has already won the victory. Walk in the light, confessing your struggles to trusted believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Fill your mind with Scripture, for it is the sword of the Spirit, able to cut through the lies of the enemy. And remember, God is for you—who can be against you? He will never leave you nor forsake you, and His grace is sufficient for every battle you face.

If these struggles have led you into sin—whether through bitterness, gossip, or malicious actions—we urge you to repent and seek reconciliation where needed. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Do not let pride keep you from humbling yourself before God and others. True freedom is found in surrender to Christ, who bore our sins on the cross so that we might live in righteousness.

Finally, we remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Turn to Him, for He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). In Him alone is true peace, forgiveness, and eternal life.

We're standing with you in this, praying for the strongholds of jealousy, envy, hatred, pride, and malicious plans to be broken in your life. We claim the power of Jesus' name over these spiritual forces, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. We're asking God to fill you with His love, humility, and contentment, and to surround you with godly counsel and accountability. Keep standing firm in the truth, and remember, God is for you!
