I've been cursed by ###

Disciple of Prayer
I was a worshiper to the santa muerte about 15 years ago. I used to also pray to the devil. One day I decided I didn't want to keep worshipping her so I threw all her images and her alter. After I did that my life turned upside down I became an addict lost my family and I know it's because I have been cursed by La Santa Muerte for throwing her away. I ask for a prayer so that curse can be lifted away from me.

We hear your cry for help and the deep anguish in your heart. What you are experiencing is not merely a curse from a false deity, but the spiritual consequences of having once given your worship to dark forces. The Bible is clear: "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other" (Matthew 6:24 WEB). You cannot serve both God and the devil, nor can you worship the one true God while still clinging to the remnants of past idolatry.

The Santa Muerte is not a saint or a holy figure—she is a deception of the enemy, a counterfeit designed to draw souls away from the light of Christ. The devil does not release his grip easily, and when you turned away from that false worship, the spiritual battle intensified. Your struggles with addiction and the loss of your family are not coincidences; they are the fruits of a life that was once aligned with darkness. But take heart, for the Word of God declares, "He has delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love" (Colossians 1:13 WEB). This is not just a promise—it is a reality for those who turn fully to Christ.

First, we must address the foundation of your faith. Have you truly surrendered your life to Jesus Christ? There is no deliverance apart from Him, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not yet confessed Jesus as Lord, repented of your sins, and invited Him into your heart, we urge you to do so now. Salvation is the first step to breaking every chain.

Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name, for it is the only name that has power over darkness:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. We lift up this dear soul who has been entangled in the snares of the enemy. Lord, we renounce every tie to Santa Muerte, to the devil, and to all false worship in the name of Jesus. We break every curse, every spiritual bondage, and every assignment of darkness that has been set against this life. Your Word declares that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB), and so we claim that freedom now.

Father, we ask You to cleanse this heart from all unrighteousness. Wash away every stain of idolatry, addiction, and sin by the blood of Jesus. Fill this life with Your Holy Spirit, that no room would be left for the enemy to operate. We declare that the curses sent against this one are broken, for "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13 WEB). No weapon formed against this life shall prosper, for You are the defender and the restorer.

Lord, we ask for healing—spirit, soul, and body. Restore what has been lost: family, purpose, and peace. Lead this one into a deep and abiding relationship with You, where the lies of the enemy have no place. Surround this life with godly counsel, accountability, and the support of believers who can walk alongside in this journey of faith. We pray for deliverance from addiction, for "the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8 WEB). Let that destruction be complete in this life.

We thank You, Father, for Your mercy and grace. We thank You that no one is beyond Your reach, and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). We stand on Your promises and declare that this life is covered by the blood of Jesus. No curse, no spirit of darkness, and no power of the enemy can stand against the authority of Your name.

In Jesus’ name, we pray and declare these things. Amen.

Now, dear one, we must encourage you to take action. Renounce every connection to Santa Muerte and the devil out loud, in the name of Jesus. Burn or destroy any remaining objects tied to that false worship—do not keep them in your home. Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled, prayed for, and held accountable. The enemy thrives in isolation, but God works through community. Confess your struggles to trusted believers who can stand with you in prayer and support.

Addiction is a fierce battle, but it is not one you must fight alone. The Bible says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed" (James 5:16 WEB). Find a Christian recovery program or support group where you can walk in transparency and receive the help you need. God’s power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB), and He will give you the strength to overcome.

Finally, immerse yourself in God’s Word. The psalmist wrote, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105 WEB). The more you fill your mind with truth, the less room there will be for the enemy’s lies. Memorize scriptures that speak to your identity in Christ, your freedom from sin, and God’s power to restore. Here are a few to start with:

- "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
- "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).
- "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

You are not cursed—you are loved by the Creator of the universe, who sent His Son to die for you so that you might live. The enemy wants you to believe that your past defines you, but God says, "I know the plans I have for you... plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). That future begins today, as you walk in the freedom and victory that is yours in Christ Jesus. Keep pressing in, keep fighting the good fight of faith, and never forget that "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4 WEB).

We're here with you, dear friend, and we feel your pain. We know the weight of a past that feels like it's dragging us down, but we also know the power of a present that's filled with hope and freedom in Jesus.

First, let's remind ourselves of who we are in Christ. You're not a curse, you're a child of God, dearly loved and deeply valued. The past doesn't dictate your future, Jesus does. He's taken care of everything, and now we stand in the victory He's already won for us.

Let's pray together, shall we? Father, we come before You in Jesus' name. We lift up this precious soul who's been feeling the weight of a past that's been holding them back. Lord, we renounce every tie to Santa Muerte, to the devil, and to any false worship. We break every curse, every spiritual bondage, and every assignment of darkness that's been set against this life. We claim freedom in Jesus' name, because if the Son sets us free, we are free indeed.

Father, we ask You to cleanse this heart from all unrighteousness. Wash away every stain of idolatry, addiction, and sin by the blood of Jesus. Fill this life with Your Holy Spirit, that no room would be left for the enemy to operate. We declare that the curses sent against this one are broken, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

Lord, we ask for healing - spirit, soul, and body. Restore what's been lost - family, purpose, and peace.
