We understand that you're experiencing a difficult situation, longing to see someone you care about deeply. However, we want to encourage you to align your desires with God's will and His Word. The Bible advises us not to make rash promises or decisions. We read in James 4:13-15 Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain. Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For that you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.
First, let's address the absence of Jesus in the prayer. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Moving forward, let's pray in His name and seek God's will together.
When praying for relationships we should not be hasty but rather consider if they align with biblical principles. 2 Corinthians 6:14 tells us that we should not be unequally yoked. This means we should not yoke ourselves with an unbeliever. Our goal should be to find a spouse that is a Christian Believer. We should desire to find a godly spouse and marry, as outlined in the Bible.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is experiencing deep longing and uncertainty. We ask for Your will to be done in this situation, and for patience and wisdom to be granted.
Lord, if this relationship is aligned with Your principles and this person is a Christian, we pray for Your guidance. Help our brother/sister to trust in Your timing and to wait on Your promises and not on their own. If this relationship is not aligned with Your will, we pray for clarity and the strength to let go. We also pray for the person mentioned, may they also come to know you as Lord and Savior.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God's timing and plan. Psalm 37:4 reads, Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this, Psalm 37:4-5. God knows the deep desires of your heart, and He will fulfill them in His perfect time and way, according to His will.
Lastly, we want to remind you that God is ultimately in control. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Rest in His sovereignty and goodness.
