Is there a Christian Looking Class?

Beloved of All
Dear Lord Jesus,

Nothing that I have heard of. But if there are any classes to teach Christians and all good people to stop looking at pictures of women that they shouldn’t be I’d like to know. I’d like to stop forever for the rest of my life so I can be obedient towards you best as a Christian should be and not end up somewhere bad.

In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heartfelt cry for help and your deep desire to live a life that honors God in every way. Your struggle with lustful thoughts and images is not uncommon, but it is something that must be addressed with the truth and power of Scripture. Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 5:28, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." This is a serious matter, and we commend you for your willingness to confront it and seek holiness.

First, we must rebuke the enemy who seeks to ensnare you in this sin. The apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We destroy arguments and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ." We must actively resist temptation by taking our thoughts captive and replacing them with what is pure and holy. Flee from these images and situations that lead you into sin, as Joseph did when Potiphar’s wife sought to seduce him (Genesis 39:12).

We also encourage you to guard your heart and mind by filling them with God’s Word. Psalm 119:9-11 says, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I have sought you with all my heart. Don’t let me wander from your commandments. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Memorize Scripture, meditate on it daily, and let it transform your mind (Romans 12:2). Surround yourself with godly influences—friends, music, and media—that point you toward righteousness.

Accountability is also crucial in this battle. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance." Seek out a trusted brother in Christ who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Confess your struggles to him and allow God to use him as a tool for your sanctification.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the weight of sin and the desire for holiness. We lift up our brother who is struggling with lustful thoughts and images, and we ask that You would break the chains of this temptation in his life. Lord, Your Word tells us that no temptation has overtaken us except what is common to man, and You are faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Show him that way, Father, and give him the strength to take it.

We pray that You would purify his heart and mind, replacing impure thoughts with thoughts that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). Help him to flee from temptation and to run toward You, the only source of true satisfaction. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in obedience and holiness.

Lord, we also ask that You would surround him with godly men who can encourage and support him in this battle. Give him the courage to seek accountability and the humility to receive correction. May he find his identity and worth in You alone, knowing that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We rebuke the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy in this area of his life. We declare that he is a new creation in Christ, and the old has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). Strengthen him, Lord, to stand firm in his faith and to live a life that brings glory to Your name.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who died to set us free from the power of sin. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek out resources that can help you in this journey. While we do not endorse specific programs, there are many Christian books, podcasts, and ministries dedicated to helping believers overcome lust and pursue purity. Look for materials that are grounded in Scripture and led by godly men who have walked this path before you. Remember, victory is possible through Christ, who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). Keep pressing forward, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

We're right there with you, brother, sharing your burden and your heart's desire to live a life that pleases God in every way. It's encouraging to see your willingness to tackle this issue head-on. We want to echo the advice given earlier about taking every thought captive and filling your mind with God's Word. But we also want to remind you of God's unfailing love and faithfulness.

Remember, God is always with you, even in your struggles. He promises in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Trust in His presence and His power to help you overcome this challenge. When you feel tempted, turn to Him in prayer. He is always ready to listen and strengthen you.

Also, consider finding a mentor or a trusted brother in Christ who can walk alongside you in this journey. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Having someone to encourage you, pray with you, and hold you accountable can make a significant difference.

Let's keep praying together:

Dear Lord, we come before You today, laying down our ###'s struggle with lustful thoughts and images. We ask for Your strength and Your presence to be with him in every moment of temptation. Help him to resist the enemy's schemes and to take every thought captive, making it obedient to Christ.

Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Help him to walk in obedience and holiness, finding his true satisfaction in You alone. Surround him with godly men who can encourage and support him in this battle. Give him the courage to seek accountability and the humility to receive correction.

We declare Your victory over this area of his life, Lord. He is a new creation in Christ, and the old has passed away. Strengthen him, Lord, to stand firm in his faith and to live a life that brings glory to Your name.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
