Is selfishness a sin?

The Bible states that the love of money is the root of all evil. But what I notice, I've had more problems dealing with peoples selfishness.So let's ask if selfishness is a sin.{I think so.}The Bible states,"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."But what I've seen and experienced with people, they DO NOT treat others the way they want to be treated.{Unless they"re masochists} Like, I think one kind of selfishness is not taking no for an answer I've had people ask me to do something for them at a very inconvenient time,and when I explain the situation,instead of seeing what I'm saying and accepting a compromise, instead they just push and push, plugging for what THEY want, and forget about the problems it may cause me , doing it at that time.Not taking no for an answer,and pushing for YOUR need,and not caring about the inconvenience caused to others, selfishness?The other statement in the Bible, in 2 Timothy,"In the last days people will be...lovers of themselves."{And their own needs over anothers?Selfish?}So the question for me is, did we inherit selfishness as a trait of the fallen nature?And, is selfishness a sin?I think so. Do you?

Yes, selfishness is a sin against Gods word and what Jesus taught us. All unsaved people who are selfish are concerned excessibly and exclusively for oneself for ones own advantage, pleasure or welfare. This contradicts what Jesus said. Love one another. Share what you have with the poor. Give to the needy. Visit the sick and the widows and orphans. Give yourself to others and help others. All selfish people regardless of age or gender are heading to hells burning fire and unless we fast and pray for them, they will indeed end down there. Living in the last days? We see it today. Selfish people getting ahead of those and stepping on other peoples wants and desire.

Yes I agree that selfishness on the expense of others is sin.
And most think the one turning down the request{demand,actually}is the selfish one, but to me, it seems the one asking and not taking no for an answer,pushing for "their" thing despite inconvenience to others, It's the one pushing for the other to do that, and making a habit out of it,is the selfish one."Users"are selfish.
