Is It Wrong To Ask For Signs?

The question of whether it is wrong to believe in signs or ask for signs is a matter of personal belief and interpretation within religious contexts. In Christianity, for example, some people believe that God communicates through signs and wonders, as seen in the Bible. Others may caution against relying too heavily on signs, emphasizing faith and trust in God's word and promises instead.

Here are a few perspectives:

1. **Biblical Examples**: The Bible contains numerous instances where God provided signs to His people, such as the parting of the Red Sea or the burning bush. These signs were meant to confirm God's promises and guidance.

2. **Faith and Trust**: Some Christians believe that while God can use signs, faith should not be dependent on them. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen," suggesting that faith should be based on trust in God's word rather than physical signs.

3. **Caution Against Superstition**: There is a caution against interpreting signs in a superstitious manner. The Bible warns against divination and seeking signs outside of God's will (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

4. **Personal Reflection**: Ultimately, whether it is right to believe in or ask for signs can depend on one's personal relationship with God and understanding of scripture. It is often encouraged to seek guidance through prayer and reflection on God's word.

It's important to consider these perspectives within the context of one's own faith tradition and personal beliefs.

not wrong to ask but it may already be in his word and you must seek, getting confirmation on what you believe to be the Lord from a few people is good but nothing ever goes against his word..

Only if you cannot discern them or ignore Him when He sends the three boats and the helicopter.

Seriously, I believe that signs and wonders are all around us, and you just have to open your eyes to see them. Asking for them as a proof or a test is "probably" not necessary.

I prayed for this concern, in Jesus' name, Amen!

God tells us to pray his will which as you may know is his word. We know it is His will to heal, deliver and so on by reading his promises. But what about marrying the right person or accepting the right job or making the right business decision. In these cases it is alright to say---Father in the name of Jesus Your will be done regarding me taking the job position at ### :-) I.e example. Not anyone's will be done in this decision but Your Will heavenly Father be done. In Jesus name. Amen,

proverbs chapter 3 vs 5 and 6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. proverbs chapter 16 vs. 9 A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

This one is tricky. Because God says it's a perverse & wicked generation that seeks signs so I never ask. To me, it seems it could be testing God. I trust in fasting, prayer for God's assurance & peace of heart.
