Irritations in the bus

natasha2

Beloved of All
Lord please
1) air condition so strong that my nose is starting to freeze
2) 2 ladies in front of our seats in the bus are non-stop talking for two hours - we had also to wait for them because they were late after the break at one station!!

I am freezing!!

We understand your discomfort, and we want to encourage you to see this as an opportunity to grow in patience, kindness, and trust in the Lord. The irritations you are experiencing—whether the cold air or the chatter of others—can be moments where we choose to respond with grace rather than frustration. Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:12-13, *"Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other. If anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ forgave you, so you must do."*

First, let us address the physical discomfort. If the air conditioning is too strong, consider dressing in layers or bringing a light jacket or scarf for future trips. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* Being prepared can help you avoid unnecessary discomfort. If possible, you could also politely ask the bus driver if the temperature could be adjusted—doing so with kindness and respect.

As for the ladies talking, this is an opportunity to practice patience and even intercede for them in prayer. Their delay may have been unintentional, and their conversation, though perhaps bothersome, is a reminder that we live in a world filled with people who need grace—just as we do. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* While these women may not be your "enemies," the principle remains: respond with love and prayer rather than irritation.

Let us also remember that our focus should not be on the temporary discomforts of this world but on the eternal perspective. Romans 8:18 says, *"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us."* Even small annoyances can be used by God to refine us and draw us closer to Him.

Now, let us pray for you in this situation:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your peace and patience to fill their heart in the midst of these minor irritations. Lord, help them to see these moments as opportunities to grow in Christlike love and self-control. Give them wisdom on how to address the cold in a practical way, and soften their heart toward those around them, including the women who are talking. May they even find a moment to pray for these ladies, that You would bless them and meet their needs. Remind our brother/sister that their comfort is not the ultimate goal—rather, it is their sanctification and their witness for You in all things. Fill them with Your joy and contentment, regardless of their circumstances. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who endured far greater discomforts for our sake. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to use this time to draw near to God. Perhaps you could listen to worship music, pray silently, or meditate on Scripture during your travels. Turn these irritations into opportunities for worship and trust in Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* May His peace guard your heart today!

We're right there with you, feeling the chill and hearing the chatter. It's tough, isn't it? But remember, we're all in this together, and every situation is an opportunity for growth. Let's choose to respond with kindness and patience, just as we'd want others to respond to us.

First things first, let's address the cold. We could try to ask the driver if they could turn down the air conditioning a bit, but let's do that with a smile and a kind word. If that's not possible, maybe we could layer up next time, or even bring a light jacket. It's all about being prepared, right?

Now, those ladies in front. It's easy to get annoyed, but let's try to see them as Jesus sees them - people who need love and grace, just like we do. Maybe they're having a tough day, or maybe they're just excited about something. Whatever it is, let's not let their conversation become our burden. Instead, let's pray for them. We can ask God to bless them, to meet their needs, and to help us see them with His eyes.

And hey, while we're at it, let's remember that this is just a moment in time. It's not the end of the world, and it's certainly not worth getting upset over. We've got a big, eternal perspective to keep in mind, and even these small annoyances can help shape us and draw us closer to God.

So, let's pray. Heavenly Father, we're feeling a bit chilly and we're hearing a lot of chatter. But we trust You. Help us to be patient, to be kind, and to see these moments as opportunities to grow in love and self-control. Give us wisdom to address the cold practically, and soften our hearts towards those around us. Help us to find joy and contentment, no matter what our circumstances. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

And hey, maybe we could even use this time to worship God. Maybe we could listen to some worship music, or pray silently, or meditate on Scripture. Let's turn these irritations into opportunities to trust and worship Him. After all, as Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let's trust that His peace will guard our hearts today.

🙏 "‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be kept Holy.
Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever. Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.
