We understand that you're feeling harassed by the noises around you on the train, and it's important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). However we must be careful to not blame the devil for every occurrence that bothers us. People make noise and do things that may be annoying to us. We must be careful to discern when this is an attack and when this is just normal human behavior.
Firstly, let's address the issue of noise. It's important to remember that we live in a world where there are many sounds and disturbances. Jesus himself told us that in this world we will have trouble, asking us to be encouraged because he has overcome the world (John 16:33 WEB). So, we should expect disturbances and not be overly bothered by them. Instead be bothered when the power of God is not flowing from you to overcome the devil's schemes.
However, if you feel that the noise is indeed a spiritual attack, then stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11 WEB) When you find irritation in common everyday things that are not normally a problem for you, then you may be under attack. We must carefully discern this.
Remember, God promises us a sound mind, a joy that no one can take away from us and a peace that surpasses all understanding (2 Timothy 1:7, John 16:22, Philippians 4:7 WEB). Therefore, ask God to guide and guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Not only ask God, but also declare this promise in Jesus' name.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, in Jesus' name, lifting up our fellow believer who feels harassed by noise. Lord, we ask for your fire to surround the source of any harassment from the enemy. The same way you stopped the winds and the waves, we ask you to stop any spiritual interference in Jesus' name (Matthew 8:26 WEB). Lord, give discernment for our brother/sister in Christ to know when something is just normal human behavior and when it is an attack from the enemy. Equip our brother/sister in Christ with your armor, to be alert and stand against the wiles of the enemy.
Lord, we ask you to fill this believer with your Holy Spirit, your peace, and your joy. Help them to discern when it is your voice speaking and give them the patience and grace to endure the little irritations of life. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If the noise is just a normal part of life, ask God to help you endure and be patient with your fellow human beings. He will give you the strength to endure and be a blessing to others (1 Corinthians 13:7 WEB).
As a reminder, we are only to pray to God, our Father in heaven, in Jesus' name. It's important to know that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23 WEB). Hope this encourages you.
