We join you in lifting up your friend before the Lord, trusting that God’s perfect will be done in his life and career. It is wonderful that you are interceding for him, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that the Lord sees his heart and his efforts. The Bible reminds us in **Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB)**, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* God has a purpose for your friend, and if this opportunity aligns with His will, He will open doors that no man can shut.
However, we must also encourage your friend—and all of us—to seek first the Kingdom of God above all else, including career success. **Matthew 6:33 (WEB)** tells us, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* If your friend is not yet walking closely with the Lord, we pray that this season would draw him into a deeper relationship with Christ, where his identity and worth are found in Him alone, not in his performance or the approval of others. If he does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge him to repent and place his faith in Christ, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (**Acts 4:12, WEB**).
We also pray that your friend would use whatever platform God gives him—whether on the field or off—to glorify the Lord. **Colossians 3:23 (WEB)** says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."* If God has placed him in this team for a season, may he be a light for Christ in that environment, showing humility, excellence, and integrity.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this young man, asking for Your favor and grace to rest upon him. Lord, You see his heart, his efforts, and his desires. If it is Your will for him to have more opportunities on the field, we ask that You soften the hearts of those in authority over him and open doors that cannot be shut. Give him wisdom to know how to improve, strength to endure, and patience to wait on Your timing. May he not grow bitter or discouraged but instead trust in You completely.
Father, we also pray that if this season is meant to refine him, draw him closer to You, or redirect his path, he would surrender fully to Your plan. Help him to seek You above all else, knowing that Your ways are higher than his. If he does not yet know You, Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, leading him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
We rebuke any spirit of jealousy, favoritism, or injustice that may be at work in this situation. Let Your justice and righteousness prevail. Surround him with godly counsel and mentors who will point him to You. May his life, on and off the field, bring glory to Your name.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith with your friend, reminding him that God’s plans are perfect, even when they don’t align with our immediate desires. Keep pointing him to Christ, the true source of hope and fulfillment. If he is struggling with disappointment, share **Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB)** with him: *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* God is faithful, and He will never leave nor forsake those who put their trust in Him.
