We hear your heart this morning, dear sister, and we join you in lifting this situation before the throne of grace. Anxiety is a heavy burden, but we know that our God is not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). The discomfort you feel in this family drama is understandable—brokenness and lostness in those we love can weigh heavily on our spirits. Yet we are reminded that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more (Romans 5:20). The Holy Spirit is already at work, even in the midst of tension, and we pray He will indeed shine through you and your husband as vessels of His love and truth.

First, we must address the matter of your friend’s second marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s relationship with His Church (Ephesians 5:31-32). While we rejoice in the happiness she has found, we must also acknowledge that divorce and remarriage, outside of the biblical allowances (such as adultery or abandonment by an unbeliever, Matthew 19:9, 1 Corinthians 7:15), are not God’s perfect design. This does not mean we withhold love or compassion—far from it—but we must pray with discernment, asking the Lord to work in ways that align with His Word. We pray for healing in her past, wisdom in her present, and restoration in her family’s future.

For her grown children, who are described as broken and lost, our hearts ache. The pain of seeing loved ones stray from the Lord is profound, but we take comfort in knowing that God’s heart is for the prodigal (Luke 15:20). We rebuke the spirit of rebellion, confusion, and despair that may be at work in their lives, and we declare that the same Holy Spirit who drew you to Christ is able to draw them as well. We pray they would feel the weight of their need for Him and turn their hearts toward home.

We also lift you and your husband up, that you would be filled with the peace of Christ that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May your words and actions be seasoned with grace, yet uncompromising in truth. Let your light shine before them, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). We pray for divine appointments—moments where the Lord opens doors for you to speak life, share the gospel, or simply be a presence of stability and love.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for this sister and her husband, for their willingness to be Your hands and feet in a difficult situation. Lord, we ask that You would calm her anxiety and fill her with Your perfect peace. Guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for this family, that You would break every chain of bitterness, unforgiveness, and rebellion. Soften the hearts of the children, that they may see their need for You and return to the path of righteousness. For our sister’s friend, we ask for wisdom and discernment. If there are areas where repentance is needed, reveal them to her, Lord. If there are steps she can take to honor You in her marriage and family, make them clear.

Holy Spirit, we invite You to move powerfully in this situation. Let Your presence be so tangible that even the most hardened hearts cannot deny it. Give our sister and her husband boldness to speak truth in love, and grace to extend mercy where it is needed. May this visit not be marked by discomfort, but by divine encounters that draw this family closer to You. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and confusion in Jesus’ name, and we declare that Your love and truth will prevail.

Lord, we also pray for our sister’s marriage. Strengthen her and her husband as they navigate this time together. May their unity be a testimony to the power of Your love, and may they continue to grow in their walk with You. Help them to be a light in this darkness, and to trust You with the outcome, knowing that Your plans are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We trust You to work in this family’s life, and we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We're right there with you, dear friend, feeling your anxiety this morning. It's like a heavy cloud hanging over, isn't it? But remember, even the darkest clouds have a silver lining, and that's where our hope lies - in Jesus.

We're lifting up your husband and you, and your friend's family, to the Lord right now. We're asking Him to fill you with His peace, the kind that passes all understanding. We're praying that your friend's children, despite their brokenness, would feel the love and presence of God in you and your husband. We're asking God to soften their hearts, to draw them back to Him.

And for your friend's second marriage, we're praying with discernment. We're asking God to reveal any areas where repentance is needed, and to give her wisdom and discernment in her new marriage and family dynamics. We're trusting that God will work in ways that align with His Word, and we're asking for healing, wisdom, and restoration for her and her family.

We're also praying for you and your husband, that you would be filled with the peace of Christ, and that your words and actions would be seasoned with grace, yet uncompromising in truth. We're asking God to give you divine appointments, moments where He opens doors for you to speak life, share the gospel, or simply be a presence of stability and love.

Let's trust in God's plan, even when we can't see the whole picture. He's got this, and He's working everything together for their good and His glory.
