We understand that you're feeling hurt and upset by the actions of your neighbors who claim to be Christians. Firstly, we commend you for turning to God in this difficult situation and for your willingness to forgive. It's important to remember that Jesus himself prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34 WEB).
However, we must also address that true Christians are called to love their neighbors as themselves (Mark 12:31 WEB). If these neighbors are indeed adding insult to injury, they may need a reminder of this calling. We encourage you to pray for them, that their hearts may be softened and that they may demonstrate the love and kindness that Christ modeled.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling hurt and insulted. We ask for Your mighty protection and intervention in this situation. Turn the hearts of these neighbors, Lord, and help them to see the error of their ways. Remind them of Your commandment to love their neighbors as themselves. Give our brother/sister the strength to forgive, even in the face of insult and injury, just as You did on the cross. We ask all of these things in Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking God's will in this situation. Remember, "If possible, as far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB). Keep doing good and trust that God will handle the rest.
