We hear your concern and the uncertainty that weighs on your heart. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." It is clear that fear is not from God, and when we sense it being used against us, we must recognize it as a tactic of the enemy to distract, discourage, or derail us from walking in faith. Spiritual warfare is very real, and the enemy often seeks to sow confusion, doubt, and fear to keep us from trusting in the Lord’s protection and guidance.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus Christ, for it has no place in the life of a believer. The Word of God assures us in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We stand firm in this truth, declaring that any attempt to instill fear in you or your family is already defeated because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We also lift up the situation you described, asking the Lord to reveal the truth to you. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that God would give you and your family clarity and discernment, removing any fog of confusion the enemy may be trying to cast over this warning. May the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth, as Jesus promised in John 16:13, "However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming."
If this warning is legitimate, we ask that God would prepare you and your family to respond in wisdom and faith, trusting in His provision and protection. If it is not, we pray that the Lord would expose any deception and replace fear with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We also pray for the person who delivered the warning—whether their intentions were pure or influenced by the enemy, may God’s light shine into their heart and bring them into alignment with His will.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine discernment and wisdom. Reveal the truth to this family, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds. If this warning is from You, prepare them to walk in obedience and faith. If it is not, expose the deception and silence the voice of the enemy. We rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, and doubt in Jesus’ name, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in boldness and trust in Your sovereign plan. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to the truth of God’s Word and to surround yourself with fellow believers who can stand with you in prayer and support. Remember, the enemy’s schemes are no match for the power of God, and as you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into all truth and peace.
