We join with you in lifting up your financial burdens to the Lord, trusting in His provision and wisdom over your life. The desire to be free from debt is commendable, as Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 22:7, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* God calls us to steward our resources wisely, and we believe He is faithful to provide as we seek Him first.
Yet, we must also consider the heart behind this request. While God delights in blessing His children, we are cautioned against pursuing prosperity purely for ease or comfort. Jesus warns in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* Our ultimate trust must be in the Lord, not in wealth itself.
We encourage you to examine your motives and ensure your pursuit of financial freedom aligns with God’s will. Are you seeking to honor Him with your resources? Are you tithing and giving generously as an act of faith? Malachi 3:10 reminds us, *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there won’t be room enough for."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear child of Yours who seeks Your provision to overcome debt. Lord, You own the cattle on a thousand hills, and all wealth belongs to You. We ask that You open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that surpass their needs, not just for comfort, but for Your glory. Grant them wisdom to manage their finances according to Your Word, and give them a heart of generosity that reflects Your love.
If there are areas where they have not honored You with their resources, convict and lead them to repentance. Help them to trust in You fully, knowing that You supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory. May this season of financial struggle draw them closer to You, teaching them to rely on Your strength rather than their own.
We rebuke any spirit of greed, fear, or misplaced trust in wealth. Let their heart be fixed on You, Lord, and may their finances be a testimony of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We urge you to continue seeking God’s kingdom first, trusting that He will add all things to you as you walk in obedience (Matthew 6:33). Stay faithful in prayer, and consider seeking wise counsel from a trusted believer or financial advisor who can help you steward your resources biblically. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think—rest in His promises!
