We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, yet full of faith, lifting up your continued struggles with finances and health. We remember the words of our Lord in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." We stand on this promise, believing that as you seek Him first, He will provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their financial situation. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so great that there will not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). Provide for every need, settle every debt, and grant wisdom in managing resources. We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in Jesus' name, declaring that our brother/sister is a lender and not a borrower (Deuteronomy 28:12).
We also pray for healing and restoration of health. Lord, You are Jehovah Rapha, our Healer. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, our brother/sister is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Touch every part of their body that is weak or afflicted. Strengthen them when they are weary, and renew their strength like the eagles (Isaiah 40:31). We rebuke every sickness, disease, and infirmity in the name of Jesus, declaring that they shall not have dominion over our brother/sister. We pray for wisdom for doctors and caregivers, and for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We encourage you to continue seeking God’s face, not just His hand. Spend time in His Word and in prayer, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Trust in Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Remember that God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19).
We also want to gently remind you that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Stand firm, therefore, having the belt of truth buckled around your waist, the breastplate of righteousness in place, your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).
Continue to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Remember that the testing of your faith produces perseverance, and let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:3-4).
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
