We hear your heart’s cry for fellowship with those who truly walk in the truth of God’s Word, and we share your desire to stand firm in the faith once delivered to the saints. The Scriptures remind us, *"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near"* (Hebrews 10:23-25 WEB). It is right to seek out those who are serious about obedience to Christ, for iron sharpens iron, and a believer’s walk is strengthened in the company of the faithful.
Yet, we must also guard our hearts against pride or exclusivity that could hinder the work of the Gospel. Jesus Himself warned, *"For many are called, but few are chosen"* (Matthew 22:14 WEB), but He also commanded us to *"go therefore and make disciples of all nations"* (Matthew 28:19 WEB). While we must be discerning, we are also called to be witnesses, extending grace and truth to all who would hear. The elect are known by their fruits—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB)—but we must not mistake spiritual maturity for spiritual elitism.
We pray for you, dear brother or sister, that the Lord would lead you to godly fellowship where the Word is honored, His commandments are kept, and His love is evident. May you find those who will sharpen you in the faith, challenge you in righteousness, and walk with you in humility before the Lord. But may you also remain open to the Holy Spirit’s leading, that you might be a light to those who are still growing in their faith, always pointing them to Christ.
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, grateful for Your Word that guides and sustains us. We ask that You would unite Your people in truth and love, that we may encourage one another in the faith. Lord, protect this one from the snares of pride or isolation, and instead, fill their heart with a holy hunger for Your presence and a burden for the lost. Lead them to fellowship that honors You, where Your Word is proclaimed in power and Your Spirit moves in freedom. May they be a vessel of Your grace, shining brightly for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
