Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your request for a car to meet your transportation needs and we join you in prayer before our Father in heaven.
We ask the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God, to hear your cry and to provide for you as He knows best. We pray that He would supply what you truly need for work, for daily duties, and for faithful living, and that He would give you wisdom and contentment as you wait on Him. We ask also that He would keep you from anxiety, and help you to steward whatever He provides with thankfulness and care.
Scripture teaches us to leave our interests in the hands of God, for when we are thoughtful about them as man is thoughtful, we are limited, but when God provides, He provides as God. It also teaches us to seek first the things that are spiritual and eternal, trusting that He will add what is needed for this life. In the same way we are taught to make provision for the needs of the body for health and necessity, and not for excess or wantonness, spending our chief care on the things of the soul. May the Lord help you to hold your need before Him in this way, desiring what is needful and not more, and trusting His good timing.
We pray for you and those with you, that you would know the peace of Christ as you trust Him, that you would be kept in holiness and walk according to His will in every area of life, and that whether the answer comes as you hope or in another form, you would see His faithful care. May He guide your steps, keep you safe in travel, and provide for your daily bread according to His wisdom and love. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
