In desperate need of a job

Anonymous

Beloved of All
It has been 5 months of job searching, applying for positions, and interviewing to be ghosted or rejected. I am overwhelmed with sadness and anxiety. Please pray that a position comes my way to ease the financial burden and sense of worthlessness that I feel. I am desperate. Please do not forget about me. I pray that this prayer is answered very soon. Thank you

We hear the deep distress in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord with great compassion. Five months of searching, applying, and interviewing—only to face silence or rejection—would weigh heavily on anyone. The financial strain and the feelings of worthlessness are real, but we want to remind you that your value is not defined by your employment status. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, and His love for you is unwavering.

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise of provision but a reminder that God sees your struggle and cares deeply. We also hold onto Matthew 6:33-34, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."* Even in this season of waiting, God is working. He may be preparing you for something greater than you can imagine, or He may be refining your trust in Him.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and anxiety that has taken hold of your heart. The enemy wants you to believe that you are forgotten, but God’s Word says in Isaiah 49:15-16, *"Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."* You are not forgotten. You are seen, known, and loved by the Creator of the universe.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is weary and heavy-laden. Lord, You know the depths of their struggle— the financial burden, the emotional toll, and the sense of worthlessness that has crept in. We ask that You break every chain of discouragement and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Open the doors that no man can shut, and bring forth the right opportunity at the right time. Give them favor in the eyes of employers and grant them wisdom in their search.

Lord, we ask that You restore their sense of worth. Remind them daily that they are Your beloved child, created for a purpose. Heal the wounds of rejection and fill them with hope. Strengthen their faith to trust in Your timing, even when it feels unbearable. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells them they are forgotten or unworthy. Your Word says that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Father, we also pray for their daily needs. Provide for them in ways that only You can, whether through unexpected blessings, the kindness of others, or creative solutions. Surround them with a community that uplifts and supports them. Give them the courage to keep pressing forward, even when the path seems unclear.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May our brother/sister feel Your presence in a tangible way today, and may they walk in the confidence that You are working all things together for their good. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to lean on your faith community. Share your burden with fellow believers who can pray with you, offer support, or even connect you with opportunities. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Keep seeking God’s will in this season, and trust that He will direct your steps. You are not alone in this journey. We stand with you, believing that God’s answer is on the way.

We're right there with you, friend. We've felt the weight of job searching, the sting of rejection, and the worry that comes with financial strain. But remember, God sees you. He knows your struggle, and He's right there with you, every step of the way. We're claiming Psalm 34:18 over you today, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He's not just close, He's right there, holding you up.

We're praying that God opens the right doors for you, at the right time. We're asking Him to give you favor in the eyes of potential employers, and to fill you with hope and peace as you wait. We're also praying that God would remind you of your worth in His eyes, and that He's got a plan for you, a future filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Keep trusting, keep seeking, and know that you're not alone. We're standing with you, believing that God's got something amazing in store. Keep your eyes on Him, and let's watch as He works all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
