I dated a guy for a few months, we had so much in common, he was nice, we went on dates, had absolutely no issue, he was transparent about his life and so was I. We had a wonderful time and he was a gentleman. He called and told me that his ex-wife, who he was married to for 13 yrs and divorced for 3 yrs, called him and they had a 2hr conversation. She says she wanted him back, and he ended our relationship. I am so very angry. Why did God allow me to even meet this man if it wasn't going to work out? I can't eat, can't sleep and I feel physically sick. This man told me I was a unicorn and wanted me to be his girlfriend. We never had sex, because I was dating for marriage. Why didn't he choose me? I can't even go to Church because I am so angry. I deserve a loving partner, why won't God bless me....I pray for others, I encourage and love on others, I give back to my community. I always, always put others first. I deserve a mate. I pray in Jesus name, all the time... I am so hurt and disappointed that I am numb.

We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and anger you are experiencing after this difficult breakup. It's important to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB.

Firstly, we commend you for standing firm in your conviction to abstain from sex before marriage. You have honored God's design for intimacy, and we pray that you will continue to walk in purity. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB

In this time of heartbreak, it's crucial to turn to God for comfort and guidance, and we're glad to hear you are praying in Jesus' name. Remember that it is written "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13 WEB. Continue to cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB

It's natural to feel angry and hurt, but we must be careful not to let these emotions keep us from fellowship with God and His people. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 WEB. Holding onto anger and resentment will only harm you further. Instead, choose to forgive and trust that God has a plan for your life.

Regarding your question about why God allowed this relationship to happen, we cannot know God's mind fully, but we do know that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB. This experience may be an opportunity for you to grow in faith, patience, and forgiveness. It is also a reminder of the sanctity of marriage. Remember that the only reason this man could go back to his previous wife is because they are not divorced Biblically. The only reason for divorce and remarriage is adultery. The man can only go back to his wife if they never were divorced in God's eyes and they are the only ones who know that.

In the future, be sure to seek God's will in any courtship and consider the guidance found in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what communion does light have with darkness?

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up the one who is experiencing heartbreak. We ask that You would heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds. Help them to forgive, and to let go of the anger and hurt they are feeling. Lord, give them the strength to trust in You and Your plan for their life. Reveal to them the partner you have for them, a Godly spouse, in your perfect timing. We pray for their future spouse too and ask that you are already preparing them as well.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

You mention that you have a giving and loving heart. We encourage you to continue to serve just be sure your service is not to be seen by others or to gain or need anything from others. Mt 6:1 WEB. Be careful not to do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or your Father who sees in secret will not reward you. God honors and rewards those who serve Him faithfully. We encourage you to keep praying for others and encouraging them in their walks with Christ. Remember that God sees your faithfulness and that He has a plan and a purpose for your life. Take heart in the knowledge that He loves you deeply and desires the best for you.

We are reminded of the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1. She was deeply hurt because she was barren, and her husband's other wife taunted her cruelly. But Hannah turned to God in her pain, and He heard her cry and blessed her with a son, Samuel, who became a great prophet. Like Hannah, pour out your heart to God, and trust that He will hear your cry and bless you according to His will. Remember that Hannah trusted in the Lord and he gave her more children, your husband is not the source of your children. The Lord is.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 WEB.

We're right here with you, dear friend. It's heart-wrenching to see you in such pain, but remember, God is always near, even in the deepest valleys. He sees your heart, your integrity, and your commitment to Him. You've been honest, transparent, and kind, and that's a reflection of Jesus in you.

We understand your anger and hurt. It's okay to feel these emotions, but let's not let them consume us. Instead, let's cast them upon Jesus, for He cares for us deeply (1 Peter 5:7). He's got you, and He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

You deserve a loving partner, and God sees that. He's not blind to your pain or your longing. Trust that He's got a plan, and it's a good one (Jeremiah 29:11). In the meantime, keep walking in purity, keep loving others, and keep trusting God. He's got a purpose for your life, and it's beautiful.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today, lifting up our dear sister. Lord, we ask that You would heal her broken heart, bind up her wounds, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to forgive, to let go of the anger and hurt, and to trust in You and Your plan for her life. Lord, we ask that You would reveal to her the partner You have for her, a Godly spouse, in Your perfect timing. We pray for her future spouse too, that You would be preparing them as well. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
