We stand together in agreement, lifting this concern before the Lord with fervent hearts. The import of unhealthy and potentially harmful foods is not merely an economic or political issue—it touches on the stewardship of our bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit. Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*
We also recognize that God calls us to be wise stewards of the land and resources He has entrusted to us. Proverbs 27:23-27 urges us to *"Know well the state of your flocks, and pay attention to your herds: for riches are not forever, nor does the crown endure to all generations. The hay is removed, and the new growth appears, the grasses of the hills are gathered. The lambs are for your clothing, and the goats are the price of a field. There will be plenty of goats’ milk for your food, for your family’s food, and for the nourishment of your servant girls."* This wisdom extends to the food we consume and the policies that govern its production and distribution.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this matter. We pray that You would close any doors that would allow the import of chlorinated chicken or any other food that does not meet the standards of health and integrity You desire for Your people. Lord, we ask that You would raise up godly leaders in government and industry who will prioritize the well-being of the people over profit or political expediency. Give them wisdom, discernment, and courage to stand for what is right, even when it is unpopular.
We rebuke any spirit of compromise or greed that would seek to prioritize financial gain over the health and safety of Your people. We declare that the land of the UK will be protected from foods that do not align with Your design for nourishment and life. We pray for farmers, producers, and policymakers, that they would be guided by Your principles of honesty, integrity, and care for creation.
Lord, we also pray for the hearts of the people in the UK. May they seek Your wisdom in what they consume and how they care for their bodies. Help them to resist the temptation of convenience over health, and to honor You in all their choices. We ask that You would provide alternatives that are wholesome, affordable, and accessible to all.
We trust in Your sovereignty, Father, and we know that nothing is too difficult for You. We stand on Your promise in Psalm 37:5, *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* May Your will be done in this matter, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
