We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and distress you are experiencing, and we are here to pray and provide guidance based on biblical principles. The burden, sadness, and anxiety you feel are real, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide some direction from God's word.
Firstly, we want to address the desire to cut ties with your family. While it is understandable that you are hurting, it is important to remember that God calls us to honor our parents. In Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB it says, Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.
However, honoring your parents does not mean you should endure abuse. If the environment is toxic and harmful, it is wise to set boundaries. In Matthew 5:39 WEB But I tell you, do not resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Addressing the issue of long term narcissistic abuse, we advise setting God given boundaries and separating yourself as needed. It is true that God will help you but you also need to be wise in your actions. We read in Matthew 10:16 WEB Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
However, be mindful not to harbor resentment or unforgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is going through a difficult time. Lord, You see the injustice, the pain, and the burden they carry. We pray for Your divine intervention, that You would grant them wisdom, understanding, and insight to navigate this situation. Help them to set healthy boundaries and to find peace and healing. Give them the strength to forgive, even as You have forgiven us through Christ.
Lord, we also pray for their family. We ask that You would soften their hearts and bring conviction where there is sin. We pray for reconciliation and restoration, according to Your will.
In the name of Jesus, we rebuke the spirits of anxiety, depression, and heaviness. We declare Your peace, joy, and freedom over their life. Help them to move forward, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness.
We notice that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). As we pray and intercede for this request we also pray for the requestor to know Jesus in a deeper way. In the book of Acts 4:12 WEB we read, Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is faithful, and He will help you through this. Stay strong in your faith and trust in Him. He is your strength as you read in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 WEB He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, and He will guide you through.
