I'm Seeing My Husband Tomorrow, Please Pray All Goes Well

I have not seen my husband since mid-October when he moved out.  He filed divorce last week and is coming by the house tomorrow to sign some things.  Lord Jesus Christ, please allow our time together to be peaceful, for him to know that I love him and do not want this divorce.  Please help us to come together to figure out the house stuff without fighting.  Lord, please also let his soul connect with mine and help him to feel a small amount of love he used to feel.  Please let him not compare me to his current affair partner, and please Lord work in Your wonderous ways to create a start to healing.  In Your name Lord Jesus, please plant a small seed within his soul and heart and mind that we can be restored and our marriage can someday be strengthened and healed.  Please drive out every evil from him and give him courage and strength to make an effort towards the man You want him to be God.  Please be with me and change my heart to show him Your love through my actions.  I love my husband and miss him so much.

God Isn't Glorified Through Our Suffering

Many Christians live under the false idea that God wants them to suffer. This creates a nonstop victim mentality.

Suffering is inevitable, but God is not glorified through our suffering. He is glorified when we have a good attitude during our suffering - and He wants us to be victorious!

So why would we choose to remain bitter, angry and wounded or depressed?

There's one surefire way to overcome suffering with the right attitude: Set your mind, and keep it set, on things above, not on things of the earth. You must be armed with right thinking, or you will give up during hard times.

Set your mind and be fully aware that moving from being a victim to being a victor will not be a quick process. It will take time, but your experience will make you stronger and enable you to help others who are facing similar battles.

Get excited about your future and realize that going through something with God means that you will come out on the other side with a victory that cannot be taken away from you.

Prayer Starter: God, I need Your help to overcome a victim mentality. I choose to set my mind on things above so that I can have the right attitude. With Your thoughts and truth inside me, I know I can overcome.

Listen to Casting Crowns, I'll praise you in this storm. I'm praying for you. Just keep your faith in God that he will do greater things in your life and learn from your past and dont make the same mistakes again. I have learned from my past and will never go back to that. Jesus has opened my eyes to what I have done wrong and will do better for the rest of my days.

My uncle cheated on my aunt many times, she held her ground, now they are together and ALL

I don't know your husbands ultimate choice.  BUT for NOW, the way you state your HEART,

I WOULD NOT, DEFINITELY NOT - sign any divorce papers.  TELL HIM you are definitely NOT ready!

Thank you for your words of encouragment Doug!  May the Lord Jesus and His Holy Spirit lead our time together tomorrow in our home.  My husband is coming home for the first time in 2 months, and although he filed papers with the court already we have the 6 month period where we can cancel the divorce lawsuit.  I have until January 12th to  file a response (unfortunately in my state I HAVE to respond, it is a no-fault state).  I plan on telling Chris I do not want to do this again and again, I also have a letter for him that I will give him sometime soon.  I know God works on His own timeline, but of course I am hoping for work to be done in our marriage before the divorce becomes final. It will be according to God's will though.  All I can ask is that He know my heart and Chris' heart and strengthen our marriage to a Godly faithful union.

May the love of Christ pour down upon my husband and soften his heart.  Please Lord, lead him back to You.  Guide me in all I do and say, direct my steps, teach me to pray and Yourself pray in me. Amen.
