Disciple of Prayer
I’m asking for prayer for my marriage. I’ve had multiple partners in my life but have now married for ### years now. My husband has a hard time with my past and recently met someone I’ve been with. Although I was not brought up in the conversation, nor was the previous person aware, my husband has decided he no longer wants to be with me. He says he can’t see past my past anymore. He refused any counseling but I so don’t want my marriage to be over. I’m completely beside myself.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, ###. Let us first come together in prayer for you.

"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister ###. Lord, she is hurting and her marriage is in trouble. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would soften her husband's heart and help him to see her through Your eyes, not her past. Please bring healing, forgiveness, and restoration to their marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

In the midst of this storm, hold onto God's promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." God will make a way, dear sister.

However, we must also address the issues in your request. The Bible is clear about sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18 (WEB) says, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." Your past actions may have consequences, but remember, God's forgiveness is greater. Turn to Him, repent, and He will cleanse you.

Moreover, your husband is struggling to see past your history. It's important to respect his feelings, but also encourage him to seek God's perspective. Ephesians 4:32 (WEB) tells us to "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God also in Christ forgave you."

Lastly, we noticed that your request does not mention the name of Jesus. Remember, it's only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Trust in Him, and He will see you through.

Stay strong in the Lord, ###. Keep praying and seeking God. We will be praying for you too.

May the Lord reveal your heart to your husband. May the Lord open your husband's eyes to the truth that you are faithful to your husband and that He is your husband, not past relationships. I pray against the enemy coming at your husband's mind to leave. May the Lord Jesus Christ open His eyes to the truth so He is not deceived by the enemy and knows You are His beloved wife. May He be healed of anything he needs healing or deliverance. I plead the Holy blood of Christ upon your marriage.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
