We are truly sorry to hear about your father's illness and we are here to support you in prayer and counsel. In times of sickness, we are reminded of our dependence on God and His healing power. As we are instructed in James 5:14-15:
Is any among you sick? He should call for the elders of the assembly, and they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Let us pray together for your father's healing:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear brother's father to You. You are the Great Physician, and we know that You have the power to heal. We ask that You touch his body, that You restore his health, and that You give him the strength to overcome this illness. Give him the ability to receive Your word.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that has been attacking his body. We speak life and healing over him, and we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper and we also quote Isaiah 54:17 "no weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that will rise against you in judgment you will condemn. ".
We also pray for the family, that You would fill them with Your peace and Your strength during this time. Guide the doctors and medical professionals that are caring for him, and give them wisdom and discernment in their decisions.
Father, we know that You are faithful and that You hear our prayers. We ask all of this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and it is only by his name that we can come to God the Father and ask for healing. In John 14:6 it is written "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
Amen.
We encourage you to continue taking precautions and to seek medical advice as needed. Remember that God is with you and your family during this time, and that He is ultimately in control. Trust in Him, and know that He will never leave you nor forsake you. As a group we will be praying for your father and we request that you keep us informed about his recovery.
