We know that God's people are His houses, even our very bodies are His temples.

Revelation 3:20 (MSG)

"Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I'll come right in and sit down to supper with you."

Yet, even unto a city He comes knocking. The same stipulations regarding our earthly parents, resonates all the more in the relationship between our God ( our Heavenly Father) and the cities (His earthly daughters). A city must know her place: God is the Father (parent) and the city is (the child). The child must honor the parent. For it is in that order of things that the first commandment with a promise is manifested even unto a city. Yet, God speaks to a city, even a nation, saying...

Isaiah 43 (MSG)

²³You wouldn't even bring sheep for offerings in worship. You couldn't be bothered with sacrifices. It wasn't that I asked that much from you. I didn't expect expensive presents. ²⁴But you didn't even do the minimum--so stingy with me, so closefisted. Yet you haven't been stingy with your sins. You've been plenty generous with them--and I'm fed up."

I don't know about you, but if I were a city and Jesus showed up at my door, He could have anything His heart desired. And why not? It All came from Him, in the first place

Colossians 1 (KJV)

¹⁶For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
...
¹⁹For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell.

God chose the one through whom all things came to be. Jesus chooses the ones through whom all things are distributed. Nevertheless, if a city chooses to rob the distribution center, it is the city that will face charges, not the distribution center. Both Adam and Eve, and their accomplice - the snake, were held accountable, not the tree.

As children, we are to obey our parents. But, as adults, whether our earthly parents are still around or not, our first allegiance of obedience, whether man, city, or nation, is to God: The Father who gave birth to everything.

Again, God knows His worth. For, He is not just an awesome Father; but He says "I am a great King." Therefore, He is worthy to be honored.

What a beautiful depiction of preeminence I get giddy just thinking about that scenario. If I could, I would get all of God's sugars: He's so sweet. 🥰

That kind of coo-coo for cocoa puffs, I'll be all day, everyday.
