Identity

Beloved of All
Hi I’m asking the Lord in Jesus name to heal me from enduring over 20 years of workplace abuse. I left almost two years ago and my body is now coming out of flight or fight mode. The cortisol levels still need to stabilize. I’ve also experienced emotional abuse at the hands of parents who also took the workplace bullies’ side against me. I felt like I was being crushed by a car compactor. Father over 40 years of emotional abuse starting in the home and on through workplace, so called friends and acquaintances. I don’t know who I am anymore. I’m just a failure and feel worthless. Maybe I don’t deserve better. At this moment I feel very low and of little value.

We lift you up before the Lord, dear brother or sister, and we are deeply grieved to hear of the decades of suffering you have endured—first in your home, then in the workplace, and even from those who should have been allies. The weight of such prolonged abuse is crushing, and we understand why you feel broken, worthless, and uncertain of your own identity. But we must remind you—**you are not what they said you were.** You are not a failure, and your worth is not defined by the cruelty of others. The Lord sees you, and He declares in **Psalm 139:13-16 (WEB):**

*"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."*

You were fearfully and wonderfully made by God Himself—**not by the hands of abusers, not by the words of bullies, and not by the failures of those who should have protected you.** The enemy has sought to steal your identity, but Christ has already overcome him. The Lord is now restoring what was broken, and we stand with you in prayer for complete healing—spirit, soul, and body.

The trauma you’ve endured has left deep wounds, but we take heart in **Isaiah 61:1-3 (WEB):**
*"The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified."*

The Lord is binding up your broken heart **right now.** He is exchanging your ashes for beauty, your mourning for joy, and your heaviness for praise. The cortisol levels *will* stabilize, the nightmares *will* fade, and the lies that have been spoken over you *will* be silenced by the truth of God’s Word. You are not who they said you were—**you are who God says you are: His beloved child, redeemed, chosen, and called by name.**

We also recognize that the emotional abuse from your parents has left scars that may feel even deeper because they were meant to be your first refuge. **Ephesians 6:4 (WEB)** warns fathers (and parents) not to provoke their children to wrath, but to nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. The fact that they sided with your abusers is a grievous betrayal, and we pray that the Lord would either soften their hearts toward repentance or give you the grace to release them into His hands. **Romans 12:19 (WEB)** reminds us:
*"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*

You do not have to carry the weight of justice—God will handle it. Your role is to surrender the pain to Him and allow Him to heal you. This may require forgiving those who hurt you, not because they deserve it, but because **unforgiveness is a chain that keeps you bound to the very people who wounded you.** Jesus said in **Matthew 6:14-15 (WEB):**
*"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."*

This is not easy, and we do not say it lightly. Forgiveness is a process, and it may require you to repeatedly release these offenses to the Lord. But as you do, you will find freedom. You will begin to see yourself as He sees you.

As for your identity—it is not found in your past, your pain, or even your perceived failures. **Your identity is in Christ alone.** **2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB)** declares:
*"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."*

You are not the sum of what was done to you. You are a new creation, and the Lord is still writing your story. The fact that you are even here, seeking Him in the midst of this darkness, is proof that He has not abandoned you. He is with you, and He is for you.

**Now, let us pray together:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your precious child, who has endured unspeakable pain—decades of emotional abuse, betrayal, and cruelty that have left them feeling crushed, worthless, and unknown. But Lord, You know them. You see every tear, every wound, every moment they felt abandoned. You collected those tears in a bottle (**Psalm 56:8**), and You have not forgotten a single one.

We ask for Your healing hand to rest upon them now. Stabilize their body, Lord—regulate their cortisol levels, calm their nervous system, and restore their strength. You are the God who heals (**Exodus 15:26**), and we declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (**Isaiah 53:5**).

Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that have told them they are a failure, that they are worthless, that they do not deserve better. We speak the truth over them: **They are fearfully and wonderfully made. They are Your masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10). They are more than conquerors through Christ (Romans 8:37).** Break the chains of shame, Lord. Remove the spirit of heaviness and clothe them with the garment of praise.

We pray for their parents, Lord. If they are still alive, soften their hearts. Bring conviction where there has been cruelty, repentance where there has been rejection. But if they remain hardened, we ask that You give our brother/sister the grace to release them into Your hands. Do not let bitterness take root—uproot it now, Lord, and replace it with Your peace.

For those who bullied them in the workplace, we ask for justice, Lord. If they have not repented, let them face the consequences of their actions. But more than that, we pray that our brother/sister would be fully delivered from the emotional hold these people still have over them. Cut every ungodly soul tie, Lord. Break every curse spoken over them. Let them walk in freedom.

Most of all, Father, we ask that You would reveal their true identity to them. Let them see themselves as You see them. Restore what was stolen—their confidence, their joy, their sense of purpose. You have plans for them, Lord—plans for good and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (**Jeremiah 29:11**). Open their eyes to those plans. Surround them with godly people who will speak life into them, who will reflect Your love.

And finally, Lord, we ask that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**). When the enemy tries to remind them of their past, let them remember that **they are no longer a victim—they are a victor in You.** Let them walk in the fullness of their redemption.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (**Romans 8:28**), and we declare that their latter days will be greater than their former (**Job 42:12**). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer, we pray. **Amen.**

---
We want to encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily. Read His Word, even if it’s just a verse or two. Let it wash over your mind and heart. **Joshua 1:8 (WEB)** says:
*"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success."*

Success in God’s eyes is not about worldly achievement—it’s about walking in obedience, in freedom, and in the fullness of who He created you to be. You are not behind. You are not lacking. You are being **refined**, and the Lord is preparing you for something greater.

If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to find a solid, Bible-believing church where you can be discipled, supported, and surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ. Isolation is a breeding ground for the enemy’s lies, but **community is where healing thrives.** If you are unsure where to start, we can help guide you in finding a church that aligns with Scripture.

Lastly, if you ever feel overwhelmed by thoughts of worthlessness or despair, **cling to this promise from Lamentations 3:22-23 (WEB):**
*"It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."*

His mercies are new **every single morning.** That means today is a new day, and He is with you in it. You are not alone. Keep fighting, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Jesus—the Author and Perfecter of your faith (**Hebrews 12:2**). He will complete the good work He has started in you (**Philippians 1:6**).

I'm so sorry to hear about the pain you've been through, but I'm here with you, and I want you to know that you're not alone. It's like you've been carrying a heavy backpack filled with stones for so many years, and it's time to take some of those stones out. You don't have to carry everything on your own anymore.

First, let's remember who you are. You are a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made. You are His masterpiece, and He loves you just the way you are. The Lord sees you, He knows your name, and He has a purpose for your life. The abuse you've endured doesn't define you. It's like a bad tattoo that can be covered up or removed, it doesn't change the person you are inside.

Next, let's talk about healing. It's a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. The Lord is with you, and He wants to heal you – spirit, soul, and body. He wants to stabilize your cortisol levels, calm your nervous system, and restore your strength. Trust in Him, and let Him do His work in you.

Forgiveness is a big part of healing too. It's not about excusing what happened, but about letting go of the pain and bitterness. It's not easy, and it might take time, but it's worth it. Jesus said, "If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15). Forgiveness is a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time too.

Lastly, remember that God is working all things together for your good. He has a plan for you, and it's a good plan. He's not done with you yet. Keep seeking Him daily, read His Word, and surround yourself with people who love and support you.

You are not a failure, and you are not worthless. You are loved, you are valued, and you are important. Keep fighting, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Jesus. He is the Author and Perfecter of your faith, and He will complete the good work He has started in you.

We're praying for you, and we're here for you. You are not alone.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting you before the Lord in prayer these past few days. Your heartfelt cry has resonated deeply with us, and we have continued to intercede for you—pleading with our Heavenly Father to bring healing to the deep wounds of emotional and psychological abuse you’ve endured for far too long. We know the weight of feeling crushed, unseen, and robbed of your identity, and we have asked God to reveal His truth to you: that you are *not* a failure, you are *not* worthless, and you *do* deserve the love, restoration, and dignity that Christ died to give you.

We’ve prayed specifically for your body to fully emerge from the exhaustion of survival mode, for your cortisol levels to stabilize as a sign of God’s physical healing, and for the Lord to rebuild what has been broken—your sense of self, your confidence, and your hope. We’ve also asked Him to surround you with people who reflect His heart toward you, who will speak life and affirmation into the lies you’ve been forced to carry.

If the Lord has begun to answer—whether through a tangible shift in your health, a moment of peace, a scripture that spoke directly to your heart, or even a small glimmer of self-worth—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else in this community needs to hold on. And if the burden still feels heavy, if the pain remains sharp, or if the enemy continues to whisper lies about your value, we urge you to post again. We are here to stand with you for the long haul, to remind you that you are *seen* by God, and to keep praying until breakthrough comes.

You are not alone in this. The God who collects every tear you’ve shed (Psalm 56:8) is the same God who is re-forming you—like a potter with clay—into a vessel of His strength and purpose. We are believing with you that this season of restoration is only beginning, and that He will reveal to you the truth of who you are in Him: *chosen, redeemed, and deeply loved.*

We will continue to pray for you, our sister or brother in Christ. May the Lord meet you in the quiet places, speak tenderness over the broken ones, and remind you that your value is not earned—it is given by the One who called you by name. In Jesus’ name.
