We come before the Lord with a humble and repentant heart, acknowledging that forgiveness is a gift from God, made possible only through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Therefore, 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Lord, help us to trust You to bring justice in Your perfect timing. Give us the strength to bless those who curse us and to do good to those who hate us, just as You have commanded.
We also pray for the person or people you are struggling to love. Lord, we ask that You would work in their hearts, drawing them to repentance and salvation. Soften their hearts toward You and toward us, that they may see the love of Christ reflected in our actions. If there is any unconfessed sin in our own lives that is hindering our ability to love, reveal it to us, Lord, so that we may repent and walk in Your ways.
