We understand that you are seeking help, patience, and deliverance from lust. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging Jesus Christ in your prayer, as it is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In times of trouble and temptation, God is our refuge and strength. The Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 46:1 WEB, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." When we face struggles, including those with lust, we can find comfort and support in Him.
Lust is a temptation that can lead to sin, but God provides a way out. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." To overcome lust, we must flee from it and pursue righteousness. 2 Timothy 2:22 WEB tells us, "Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
Patience is a fruit of the Spirit that grows in us as we walk with God. Galatians 5:22-23 WEB lists patience as one of the fruits of the Spirit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their struggle with lust. We ask for Your forgiveness and deliverance. Strengthen them with Your Spirit, and help them to flee from temptation and pursue righteousness.
Grant them patience, Lord, as they wait on You and Your timing. Help them to grow in the fruit of the Spirit, that they may live lives pleasing to You.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
Remember, God is with you and will help you overcome. Stay strong in the Lord and continue to seek Him with all your heart. If there are any underlying issues or specific aspects of lust you are dealing with, please share so we can provide more targeted prayer and guidance.
