We understand that you're feeling this way, but we want to remind you of the importance of reading the Bible and having a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible is the living Word of God, and it is relevant to every aspect of our lives. The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart according to Hebrews 4:12 WEB.
Firstly, we want to address the belief that Jesus has never helped you. We want to assure you that Jesus loves you deeply and cares about every detail of your life. He said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest according to Matthew 11:28 WEB. Sometimes, we may not recognize His help because we expect it to come in a certain way, but His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts than our thoughts according to Isaiah 55:9 WEB.
Secondly, we want to address the idea that ghost stories are more interesting than the Bible. While they may seem exciting, they can also be spiritually harmful and open doors to the wrong influences. We should not be involved in any aspect of the occult or darkness but instead focus on the light and truth of God's Word. For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, proving what is well pleasing to the Lord according to Ephesians 5:8-10 WEB.
In place of ghost stories, consider reading some of the exciting accounts in the Bible - like David and Goliath, Daniel in the lion's den, or the miracles of Jesus. The Bible is full of inspiring and thrilling stories that are not only interesting but also beneficial for our spiritual growth and closeness with God. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work according to 2Timothy 3:16-17 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, asking that You would reveal Yourself to our friend in a powerful and personal way. Lord, help them to see that You are the only way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through You according to John 14:6 WEB. Stir up a hunger and a thirst for Your Word, and help them to see that it is living and active, and more relevant than any other book. In Your precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in the Bible, asking God to make it come alive to you. Start with the Gospels and see the love and power of Jesus in action. As you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.
