We understand that you're struggling with alcohol and having difficulty quitting. Firstly, we want to assure you that God is more than willing and able to help you overcome this challenge.
First, we need to ask, do you know Jesus? The Bible says in Acts 4:12 WEB Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! If you have never asked Jesus to save you from your sins and be your Lord and Savior then we encourage you to do so now. You must be born again to have access to God. If you confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior you will be born again as is says in John 3:3 WEB Jesus answered him, Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see the Kingdom of God. If you need to know how to do this just ask us. We would be glad to help you.
The scripture has the following to say about drunkenness in Romans 13:13 WEB Let us walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy. Also, Proverbs 23:20 WEB Do not be among ones who drink too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat.
Let us pray for you.
Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with alcohol. We ask first for forgiveness on their behalf if they have not asked for it from you already. Next we ask for your divine intervention, that you would deliver them from this bondage. Give them the strength and grace to overcome this addiction. Surround them with your love and with people who will support and encourage them in this journey. Fill them with the power of the Holy Spirit, that they may be able to resist temptation. In Jesus name, amen!
We encourage you to take practical steps towards overcoming this challenge. Seek help from Christian counselors or support groups, avoid situations which may be a trigger for you, and surround yourself with believers who can hold you accountable. Remember, Philippians 4:13 WEB says I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. With God's help, you can overcome this. Also, make sure you are attending a Bible believing church. If you are not we encourage you to do so and be baptized if you have not been already.
