God bless you Tracy. What you are experiencing is your need for a Saviour, Jesus. Many people go to church religiously. It has become a rituals, and never had a one on one relationship with Jesus. People just have head knowledge of God. John 1:12 "as many as receive Him (Jesus) to them, He gave them power to become children of God.
Jesus says" in order to enter into the kingdom of God, we must be born again". Jesus says "I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the father except through me (Jesus). Jesus says "what is born of spirit is spirit, and what is born of flesh is flesh". We were born of the flesh through our natural parents, but we must be born of the spirit of God to be His own, then He becomes our spiritual Father. Jesus introduce us to His Father, when He said "our Father".
Your real spiritual life is in Christ. We are the heir of his salvation. Say this prayer: Father, I believe that you send Jesus to die for my sins, and that Jesus rose again from the dead. Father I thank you for making provision for my life in Christ. I thank You again for forgiving me of my sins, mistakes, fault. You are the way so direct me to You, You are truth, give me Jesus for He is truth, and You are life, give me that heavenly life. I surrender myself to You, and I accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour. Make me a new person, fill me with joy, and the Holy Spirit, for You are the answer for my soul.
