We understand your concerns about the state of the world and the challenges that children may face. It is commendable that you are thinking deeply about the responsibilities of parenthood and the well-being of children. We must remember that God has a plan and purpose for each life, and He is ultimately in control.
It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved. As it is written in the Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In the Bible, children are seen as a blessing from the Lord. Psalm 127:3-5 WEB says, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They will not be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate."
While it is true that the world can be a difficult place, God calls us to be a light in the darkness and to raise children in the way they should go. Proverbs 22:6 WEB tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Regarding those who call you selfish, remember that God sees your heart and knows your intentions. It is important to seek His will for your life and not be swayed by the opinions of others. As in 1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your love and faithfulness. We lift up all children, both born and unborn, to You, asking for Your protection and blessing over their lives. We pray for wisdom and guidance for those considering parenthood, that they may seek Your will and trust in Your goodness.
Help us to be a light in this world, to stand for righteousness, and to raise children who will know and love You. Give us courage to face the challenges of this life and to put our hope in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If you feel convicted to have children, ask God to bring a godly spouse into your life with whom you can raise a family. If you remain concerned about the state of the world, consider the many ways you can positively impact the lives of children around you, whether through mentoring, fostering, or supporting families in need. Trust that God has a plan for your life and for the lives of all His children. He is good and faithful. He is the only hope for this world.
