We are truly grateful that you have reached out with your heartfelt cry for help. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can find forgiveness, healing, and deliverance from sin. God's Word is clear that sexual immorality, including pornography, masturbation, and flirting with the opposite sex, is sinful and separates us from God's holy presence.
Firstly let us remember and discuss:
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Ephesians 4:22-24 WEB "...that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit; and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth."
Romans 12:2 WEB "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
Jesus Himself said in:
Matthew 5:28 WEB "but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."
Flee these temptations and run towards God. In your pain and struggle remember that Jesus Christ was tempted in every way as we are but did not sin. Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with the bonds of sexual sin. We confess these sins before You and ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. We pray that You will grant them the gift of repentance and the power to turn away from these destructive behaviors.
Lord, renew their mind according to Your Word. Make them wise and discerning, so that they may see these sins for what they are and avoid them at all costs. Give them a knowledge of who they are in Christ Jesus, Your Holy Spirit and Your Word. Help them to understand the sanctity of their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, and empower them to glorify You in both body and spirit. Help them to know the love of Christ Jesus and live in His Love. We thank you for their sensitivity to conviction and pray you give them strength to repent then give them peace.
Father, we ask that You speak clearly to them, giving them understanding and guidance. Deliver them from the bondage of these sins, and set them free to live in the fullness of Your love and grace as they pursue holiness.
Holy Spirit strengthen them to do according to the Word of God. Guard their heart and mind from thoughts of lust and intensify their desire to love and serve Christ Jesus. May Jesus Christ Himself be their hope, satisfaction and peace, and may He know and love Jesus Christ more and more.
We ask this all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, for God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). Stand firm in the knowledge that you are a beloved child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7 WEB). God is working in your life to bring transformation and healing under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB).
