We understand your heartfelt desire to be reunited with your child, and we join you in prayer, standing on God's promises. Firstly, we acknowledge your gratitude for God's blessings and the faith you have in Him. We are instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 WEB to "give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." It is wonderful that you are thankful for your jobs, your colleagues, and the provisions you have.
However, we notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
We also are in prayer for your child in Jesus' name. Because we are both human we have all sinned and come short of God's glory. That means we have all done things that do not line up with what the Bible teaches us to do. Because of this sin our works whether good or bad qualify us for an eternity in hell. Jesus came and died a brutal death he did not deserve on a cross to remedy this problem. Because he never sinned his death was valuable enough to purchase our pardon from this punishment. He was then raised from the dead three days later. If we confess the name of Jesus and believe in his resurrection confessing with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believing in our hearts that God has raised Him from the dead then we are saved. This means we will have an eternity in heaven with him and a renewed life here on earth. All of this is only possible through Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this parent who longs to be reunited with their child. We thank You for the blessings You have bestowed upon them and for their heart of gratitude.
Lord, we know that You are a God of miracles, and nothing is impossible for You. We pray for wisdom, guidance, and favor in this situation. We ask that You soften the hearts of those involved and make a way for this parent and child to be reunited, if it aligns with Your will.
We also pray for the child, that You would protect them, comfort them, and draw them to Yourself. We ask that You would work in their life and the lives of those caring for them, giving them love, patience, and wisdom.
Lord, we know that You are faithful, and Your love for us is unfailing. We trust in Your promises and believe that You will act according to Your perfect will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
It is important to be mindful that Jesus and the Apostle Paul taught that we are to obey the rules of our government. There are only two exceptions to this. We must obey God rather than man if we are asked to do something against God's will. This concept is taught in Acts 5:29 WEB.
But Peter and the apostles answered, We must obey God rather than men.
The other exception is in regards to child rearing and family. If the government is asking us to do something that is against God's will and is causing us to sin against God by not upholding our responsibilities to our family then we need to obey God in that respect as well.
But if any provideth not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB.
We are instructed in Romans 13:1 WEB to be "subject to the higher authorities" and to "be in subjection" (1 Peter 2:13 WEB), understanding that they are "ordained by God" (Romans 13:1 WEB). This means that we should follow the laws and regulations set forth by our government, trusting that God is ultimately in control.
In light of this, we encourage you to cooperate with the authorities involved in your situation and to seek godly counsel to navigate the legal processes. Trust that God is sovereign over all, and He will guide you through this challenging time.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9 WEB).
