We lift up your grandson, his son, and his girlfriend before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to provide for their every need according to His riches in glory. Father, You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who sees and provides. We ask that You open doors for stable housing, that they may find a place to dwell in peace and safety. Provide for their daily bread, that they may not go hungry, and grant them the means to sustain themselves until steady employment is secured. We pray for reliable transportation so that the girlfriend may complete her training and your grandson may find work, trusting that You will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Lord, we also bring before You the heavy burden of mental illness that weighs upon your grandson. You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to restore his mind, that he may think clearly, act wisely, and walk in the fullness of the sound mind You have promised. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke every spirit of confusion, despair, and oppression in the name of Jesus, declaring that by His stripes, healing is made available.
We also lift you up, dear grandmother, asking the Lord to grant you wisdom as you seek to help your family. May the Holy Spirit guide your steps, showing you when to offer support, when to speak truth in love, and when to trust God’s provision even when you cannot see the way. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5).
Now, we must address a matter of concern with love and truth. The mention of your grandson’s "girlfriend" raises a biblical issue that cannot be ignored. Scripture is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is fornication, and relationships should be pursued with the intention of holy matrimony between a man and a woman who share faith in Christ. "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). We encourage you to pray for your grandson and his girlfriend, that they would seek God’s design for relationships, either committing to a godly marriage or separating until they are prepared to honor the Lord in this area.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We thank You for Your faithfulness and Your promise to never leave nor forsake us. Lord, we ask for Your provision over this family, that You would meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Provide housing, food, employment, and transportation, and let Your peace reign in their hearts as they trust in You.
We pray for healing over the mind of your grandson, Lord. Break every chain of mental illness, and let Your light shine into the darkness. Restore his thoughts, emotions, and actions to align with Your will, that he may walk in the freedom Christ died to give him.
Father, grant wisdom to this grandmother, that she may know how to help without enabling, how to love without compromising, and how to trust You without wavering. Surround this family with Your presence, and let them feel Your love in tangible ways.
We also pray for repentance and alignment with Your Word in the area of relationships. Soften their hearts to Your truth, Lord, and lead them into Your perfect will for their lives. May they seek You above all else, and may Your Holy Spirit convict and guide them into righteousness.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
