We join you in prayer, asking God for healing and strength. We are reminded in Psalm 103:2-3, "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." God is our great healer, and we trust in Him.
However, we want to encourage you to seek God's will above all else. In James 4:13-15, we read, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain.' Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will live, and do this or that.'"
It is wonderful that you acknowledged God's will in your prayer, but we want to emphasize the importance of aligning your desires with His will. God's ultimate goal is for us to have a relationship with Him, to become determined followers of Jesus Christ. Our healing and physical abilities should help us achieve this purpose, glorifying God.
We also want to address the fact that we can only pray to God our Father through the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name we can be saved. In Acts 4:10-12, Peter said, filled with the Holy Spirit, "be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your healing touch upon this dear soul. You know the pain and discomfort they are experiencing. Lord, if it is Your will, grant them the strength and healing they need to participate in the athletic competition tomorrow. Help them to glorify You in all they do.
We also pray for a deeper understanding of Your will for their life. Help them to draw closer to You during this time, seeking Your face and Your plan for their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
