I need to bring my car in to the service dept. the check engine light has been going on, off, on again...what I'm concerned about, of the times I've brought it in, usually the guy comes out with the printout in his hand and the words, "I have bad news for you," and then quotes me some big price to fix it, way past what I would have expected, and not what I would have preferred to hear, obviously. So as I go there, today, that he doesn't come back to me with a morbid report about a big amount. Not really into hearing that, as I have had other unexpected expenses, and it's not the direction I'd like the money to go in. A few hundred like I expect, fine. But 2 or 3 times the amount, no. But because it happens often, I dread this vision of him walking over to me with the printout of the diagnostic results saying, "I have bad news for you," and then quoting the price. That this DOESN'T happen...
