I need the Lord to defend me

Please pray for me I am facing attacks on my health and on my life. Lord guide me and protect me from all evil. I defend me from the wicked and my enemies.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace where our Lord reigns supreme. You are not alone in this battle, for the Word of God assures us, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower" (Psalm 18:2). The attacks you are facing, whether physical, spiritual, or emotional, are not unseen by our Heavenly Father. He is your defender, your protector, and your ever-present help in times of trouble.

First, we must address the foundation of your plea. While you call upon the Lord, we must emphasize that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is by His blood that we are redeemed and by His authority that we stand against the schemes of the enemy. If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith fully in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He alone can break the chains of darkness and bring you into the light of His protection.

Now, let us pray for you with the authority given to us in Christ:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under attack, facing threats to their health and life. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the Healer of all infirmities, and the One who holds our very breath in Your hands. We ask that You would rebuke every spirit of infirmity, sickness, and death that is assailing them. By the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their body, their mind, and their spirit. Surround them with Your holy angels, as You promised in Psalm 91:11-12, "For He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Let Your angels encamp around them, shielding them from every evil plot and wicked scheme. Expose and dismantle every plan of the enemy, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, we ask that You would grant them wisdom and discernment to recognize the sources of these attacks. Whether they stem from spiritual warfare, human adversaries, or even unconfessed sin, reveal the truth to them so they may repent, renounce, and resist in the name of Jesus. If there are areas in their life where they have opened doors to the enemy, through bitterness, unforgiveness, fear, or compromise, we pray that You would bring conviction and lead them to repentance. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

We also pray for their physical and emotional strength. Sustain them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and fill them with hope in Your promises. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). When they are weak, You are strong (2 Corinthians 12:10), and Your grace is sufficient for every trial.

Father, we stand in the gap for them, declaring that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against their life and command every spirit of death, destruction, and affliction to flee in the name of Jesus. We declare that they are covered by the blood of the Lamb, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and hidden in Christ. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you, dear one, to put on the full armor of God daily so that you may stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). This armor includes:
- The belt of truth (knowing and standing on God’s Word),
- The breastplate of righteousness (living a life of holiness and repentance),
- The shoes of the gospel of peace (being ready to share the hope of Christ),
- The shield of faith (trusting God’s promises to quench the enemy’s fiery darts),
- The helmet of salvation (protecting your mind with the truth of your identity in Christ),
- And the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God, which is your offensive weapon).

Wield this armor with confidence, knowing that the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). Spend time in prayer and in the Word, for "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). Surround yourself with godly believers who can stand with you in prayer and encouragement, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we strongly urge you to seek one out. The body of Christ is designed to support, uplift, and protect one another. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone (1 Peter 5:8). In the company of fellow believers, you will find strength, accountability, and the love of Christ.

Lastly, we remind you that God is not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). If these attacks have caused you to doubt His love or sovereignty, we encourage you to meditate on His faithfulness. Recall the times He has delivered you in the past, and let those memories fuel your trust in Him for the present. "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all" (Psalm 34:19).

We stand with you, covering you in prayer, and declaring that the Lord is your defender. May He arise and scatter your enemies, may His light dispel every darkness, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37), and we believe that this trial will not overcome you but will instead be used to display God’s glory and power in your life. Hold fast to your faith, for the victory is already won in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We're standing with you as you face these attacks on your health and life, and we don't take that lightly. When everything feels like it's coming at you at once, body, spirit, safety, it's easy to feel alone and overwhelmed. We want you to know we hear the urgency in your words, and we're praying with you.

In times like this, we've seen how important it is not to carry the weight by yourself. Reaching out for prayer is a brave and right step, but we'd also encourage you to let trusted people in your life know what's going on. Sometimes the enemy thrives in isolation, and simply having someone sit with you, pray with you, or check in regularly can make a real difference. If your health is under direct attack, please also let a doctor evaluate what's happening, seeking medical help isn't a lack of faith; it's using the means God often provides for healing and protection.

We also want to gently remind you of something we've found steadying in our own hard seasons: God's protection doesn't always look like instant deliverance, but it's real. He sees you. He has not handed you over to your enemies, and He has not abandoned you. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply keep lifting our eyes to Him, even when we're exhausted, and let His peace begin to settle over the fear.

Lord, we lift up this one who is under attack. You know the threats against her health and her life. We ask You to be her defender and shield. Break every assignment of the enemy, and surround her with Your angels. Give her wisdom about her next steps, bring trustworthy people alongside her, and let her feel Your presence so tangibly that fear loses its grip. In Jesus' name, amen.

The doctrine of Divine Sovereignty is among the most comforting to the children of God. To know that the Lord sits upon the throne, that He makes the difference, that nothing escapes His eye, this is the refuge of the soul when attacks press in upon health and upon life itself. The Lord has declared that He will break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him. From the time when Satan fell, God's purpose was to shatter all that dares to assert greatness apart from His endowment. Rejoice therefore, for He will lift up the poor from the dunghill while He casts down the mighty from the seats of their pomp. The death warrant is gone out from God against everything that is of the creature, and no enemy shall finally stand against the purpose of His grace.

These attacks you suffer come not without His knowledge. Has He not promised, "He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters"? How strikingly has God delivered many who now sit in His house to declare, "He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling." The Lord has charged His angels to keep His people in all their ways, not just in the smooth paths, but in the stony roads where lions seem to prowl. Even there, no hurt can come except as He permits it for a season, to teach us our dependence upon Himself alone.

Do not look for help in your own strength, for apart from God the view of humanity is the most deplorable picture despondency could paint. Your enemies who now rise against you, those who would see your life cut short and your health fail, they shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the Presence of the Lord, for they are the enemies of His Cross whether they know it or not. But to you who trust in Him, remember that His gentleness has made you great. He who trains the eagle to fly by stirring up its nest will not let you fall into the vast deep without Himself swooping beneath on outstretched wings.

Walk in the way of obedience to His precepts. Do what God tells you, as God tells you, because God tells you, and no lasting evil can touch you. You will always need His divine keeping, for He would not have charged angels to guard you if you did not need protection in all your ways. Expect the same results from the Divine Presence today as in days of old. God is the same. The ages may degenerate but He has not degenerated. Cry out to Him, and He will divide the sea before you.
