We are glad to join you in prayer for your mother's deliverance from alcohol and cigarettes. It is important that you called on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we can find salvation and have our prayers heard by God, the Father. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace" Ephesians 1:7 WEB.
Firstly, let us address the issue at hand. Your mother is in bondage to sin, and she needs the power of the Holy Spirit to break free from it. God's Word tells us, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16 WEB. Your mother has yielded herself to sin, but the power of God can deliver her, just as He has delivered many before.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, pleading for the deliverance of this dear mother. Lord, You know the bondage she is in, and You have the power to set her free. We ask, Lord, that You would break the chains of addiction in her life, and give her the strength to overcome these sins. Open her eyes, Lord, to see that these things are wrong and are hurting not only her but also You. Help her to see the error of her ways and turn from them.
We also pray for her salvation, Lord. If she does not already know You, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. Draw her to Your Son, Jesus Christ, and give her the gift of eternal life. Help her to see that true life is found only in You.
Thank you, Jesus Christ, for the power of Your name. "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." 1 John 3:8 WEB.
We thank You, Lord, for the assurance of Your Word, we know that you will hear and answer our prayers. "If we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him" 1 John 5:15 WEB.
We stand in faith, believing that You will deliver her from these sins and draw her closer to You. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand in faith and believe that God is working in your mother's life. Keep praying for her and trusting God for her salvation and deliverance. Remember, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" James 5:16 WEB.
Be sure to show your mother the love of Christ in all you do. In your words and actions be a reflection of Christ. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven" Matthew 5:16 WEB.
