We understand your concern and we're here to support you in prayer and counsel for your mother's deliverance from alcohol and cigarettes. We commend you for bringing this request in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Firstly, let's address the issue at hand. The Bible warns us against drunkenness and reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should honor God with our bodies and not engage in activities that can harm them, such as substance abuse. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB: "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." And in Ephesians 5:18 WEB: "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."
Let us pray together for your mother:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear sister in Christ who is struggling with alcohol and cigarettes. We pray for her deliverance from these strongholds, that You may break the chains of addiction and set her free. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and command it to leave in Jesus' name.
Lord, we also pray for her conviction, that You may reveal to her the harm she is causing to herself and to those around her. Open her eyes to see that she is hurting not only herself but also You, her heavenly Father who loves her dearly, and those around her. Convict her that this is sinful and needs to be addressed.
Surround her with Your love and give her the strength and courage to overcome this battle. Help her to fully surrender her life to You and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide her in all her ways.
We ask this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying for your mother and to support her in any way you can. Remind her of God's unfailing love for her and encourage her to seek His will for her life. Also, consider finding a local church or support group that can help her overcome this struggle.
Lastly, we want to remind you of the promise in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in your mother's life, even through this challenging time.
Stand firm in your faith and keep believing for her complete restoration and healing. Do not give up on her. As it is written "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:9 WEB
