I need prayer for my husband and our marriage. We got married 9 months ago. Five days after we got married he quit his job. He was a caregiver for his mother. At the time his mom was in rehab so he had no income. She comes home in July and he refuses to be his mom's caregiver again. In September things look like that might change with my job so he finally starts caregiving for his mom again. Even though he has some income he still always has a reason why he can't help me with the bills. He always needs something for himself. The beginning of Feb his mother passes away. She had been in the hospital since the end of dec. So no income for him again. We live with his mother and sister. Since his mom passed his sister has bought a house and is moving in 2 months. My paycheck barely covers the bills. I can't pay rent, utilities, etc on top of what I already have. Every time I try to talk to him about finding work he gets very angry with me. I'm to the point where I'm considering leaving him. I know that's wrong, we are both born again, but this struggle alone is just too much for me.

May God guide your steps!

God supports marriage, but He doesn't ask us to be in situations that are harmful for us. Your husband might have married you so that he can stop working; that seems to be the pattern so far. Also, as much as possible, a Christian man should take his role as the head of the family - it sounds like you have that role. My point: some bad patterns have been established in this marriage. You need counseling as a couple and -most important!- you need to decide for yourself how to proceed.
