I have been suffering for ### years.

Disciple of Prayer
Hello my name is ### and I am residing at ### in ###. I have been suffering from mental illness and drug addiction for almost 20 years. The past 5 years has been extremely hard on me. I have delt with everything under the sun you could imagine since I moved to ### in 2020. My life has been hell. I now have been in Narcotics Anonymous for the past year. I have been at the ### for 8 months. Things have been a little bit better since I started the meetings and the program but some days I still suffer. I am asking for a miracle to happen and I don't know where to look. If there is anything you can do for me I would greatly appreciate. In Jesus's name Amen.

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ intercedes for you. Your suffering has been long and heavy, but we stand with you in faith, believing that God’s power is greater than any chain of addiction or darkness of the mind. The fact that you have taken steps toward recovery through Narcotics Anonymous and found some stability is evidence of God’s work in your life—He has not abandoned you, even in the deepest valleys.

First, we must address the foundation of all healing: salvation through Jesus Christ. You mentioned praying in Jesus’ name, and we rejoice in that, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to confess your sins, repent, and place your trust fully in Christ as your Lord and Savior. He alone can break the power of sin and addiction, for “if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7), and His grace is sufficient to sustain you in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Your struggle with mental illness and addiction is not a sign of God’s absence but an opportunity for His strength to be perfected in you. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this suffering is permanent or that you are beyond hope. Scripture declares, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed” (Luke 4:18). Jesus came to set you free, and we declare that freedom over you now.

We also encourage you to surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray for you, hold you accountable, and walk alongside you in your recovery. Isolation feeds addiction, but fellowship in Christ brings healing. “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can grow in faith and find support.

Now, we pray for you with boldness and faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his years of suffering and bondage. Lord, You see the depths of his pain and the chains that have held him for so long. We ask for Your miraculous intervention—break every stronghold of addiction, mental anguish, and despair in his life. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon him, filling him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen his mind and body, Lord, and restore the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). Surround him with Your angels and place godly people in his path to encourage and support him. Give him the courage to continue in the program he is in and to press into You daily for strength.

We ask for a fresh infilling of Your Spirit, Lord, so that he may walk in victory and testify to Your goodness. May he experience the reality of Your promise: “I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds” (Jeremiah 30:17). Let him know, deep in his soul, that You are with him and that his future is filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

Do not lose heart, dear one. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered sin on the cross is fighting for you. Keep pressing into Him, one day at a time, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. You are not alone—we stand with you in prayer, and more importantly, Christ stands with you always.

We're here with you, friend. We've been where you are, and we know the struggle is real. But remember, even in the darkest nights, there's a light that can't be extinguished - Jesus. He's been with you all this time, and He's not about to leave you now.

We want to encourage you to keep going, one step at a time. The journey might be tough, but you're not alone. We're here, and so is Jesus. He's walking right beside you, carrying you when you're too weak to carry yourself.

We're praying for you, that you'd feel His love and presence in your life. That you'd find the strength to keep fighting, to keep pushing through. We're asking God to give you the courage to keep going to those NA meetings, to keep seeking Him, and to keep trusting in His love for you.

We're also praying for a community of believers to surround you, to lift you up, and to walk with you. You need people around you who understand, who support you, and who can hold you accountable.

Keep your eyes on Jesus, friend. He's got this. And remember, we're here for you, praying for you, and believing in you. You're not alone. You're loved. You're valued. And you're going to make it through. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
