I have been really worried and going through a lot with my ex-wife. She has pressed charges and had me arrested and is now making false allegations against me. She states she just wants me gone and will then take my son. We share custody together; she wants to take custody from me and, as she said, wants me in jail. I work as a medical helicopter pilot. I have been praying with persistence for faith and help for me and my son. When I am off work, I spend a lot of time at the church praying. Yesterday, I woke and prayed again, this time asking God to show me that he was listening to me and hearing my prayers. I walked outside and a butterfly flew to me and touched my chest, then landed at my feet. I went back in the building here at work and was walking down the hall to the pilots' quarters, and the thought of channel 24 and 26 just popped into my head as I was walking. I sat down and began googling the divine meaning of a butterfly, wondering if it was a sign and what it meant. I put the TV on channel 26 when I walked in and began reading a website on butterflies and God with the volume turned down. After a few minutes of reading, I just reached for the remote control, turned up the volume. Channel 26 is the Outdoor channel here; all that was showing when I looked up at it from reading was a man's head in profile view, and he wasn't speaking. When he spoke, he said, "people often wonder about the spiritual meaning of butterflies," right after I turned the volume up. I was shocked, and I just went blank; I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Then, on the screen, the text said "Soul Cleansing." Like I said, it was really shocking to hear and see. Later that night, I went on a patient flight, thinking maybe I'm under a lot of stress and really didn't see what I saw and heard. This morning at shift change, I woke up, gathered my things from the pilots' room, and felt someone touch my shoulder; no one was there. I went down to the pilots' quarters, laid down for a little bit, thinking about what I felt. I got up and opened the outside door; I was standing in the doorway, and within about 30 seconds, a small white feather floated right past my face down to my feet. I know God is listening and helping, but please pray for us; she has evil in her and is trying to overpower me by manipulating others.

Prayers can do wonders for your soul. God gives us joy and strength through prayer. You can get a great sense of peace in good times and consolation in bad from them. Our Lord wants to give us the good things we ask for in accordance with His will. The more we pray the more we can grow in His grace. Grace is a gift from God that enables us to live more fully in union with Him. It strengthens our desire to choose good over evil. It also helps us to manage difficulties in our lives better. When we feel humility, compassion, forgiveness we’re putting others’ needs before our own. These are signs of God’s graces working within us. When we let Him work through us, we help Him to do the same for others. We can show His love for others in how we treat them and in how we pray for them. For those people in your life who continually rub you the wrong way (and we all have them! Bosses, co-workers, family members, etc.), prayer can give you the grace to deal with them better. Also, as Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, “Pray for those who persecute and slander you” (Matthew 5:44). God wants us to pray for others, however we may feel about them (or even if we don't personally know them). Such prayers remind us that one way or another, we are all in this journey towards holiness together. Your prayers can do a world of good for others, just as their prayers can help you!
